Winking Student Just For You

This is the first of two posts for today so if you are reading this one first pls come back later and see my other card.

I have used the ultra cool Winking Student from Funky Kits and coloured her with Promarkers - details below - made 2 frames using my Bigshot and Spellbinders Labels 2 and two different DPs, inked up my 'Pringle' embossing folder with a PM (which I washed off very quickly!!) to create the small panels on the left hand side and made a tag using a Sissix tag which I then stamped the sentiment onto.

I just adore this wee image but am rather annoyed as every time I use my French Navy PM it leaks onto nearby colours and spoils everything about the cards I make.  Only ever happens with the French Navy ~ any hints ladies?

You may want to see the card eh? so here it is :~

I used a fabulous teal coloured paper from Pink Petticoat and a gingham one I got free in a magazine recently.

Ingredients:~
Winking Student rubber stamp from Simply Sassy range at Funky Kits;
Promarkers ~ Ivory, Blush, Dusky Pink, Henna, Cinnamon, Caramel, Sandstone, Duck Egg, French Navy, Pastel Blue, Apple and Pear Green;
Spellbinders Labels 2;
Sissix Tag Die;
Papermania Embossing Folder;
Ribbon from stash.

I am entering this into the following challenges:~

I hope you will come back later to see my other card and I appreciate any comments you leave.
Many thanks crafters!

What we been up to and Lilly and Flowers

Our beautiful baby Sooty missed us when we were away at the weekend but I have to say sorry for misleading you all - we weren't in Norfolk but in Suffolk. Just sitting directly on the border apparently!  We stayed in a lovely wee village pub in a place near Lopham and Redgrave Fens.  We spent two days walking on them chasing the wildlife and enjoying the tranquility of the place.  I got this fab pic of a robin just at the start of our second very long walk and wanted to share it with you all.
We also came across these stunning ponies that live wild on the fens - there were warning signs up saying not to approach them but they approached us thru a fence I have to say tho they did let me stroke them for a while.

Onto my card for today now.....this is for Lynne's friends wee girl Lily Mai.  She is a gorgeous wee angel!  Using a digi stamp I won drom Digistamp Boutique last year (Lilly and Flowers), I coloured her with my good old PMs (colours below), used a Nellie Snellen Oval Die and then cut around the outer shape of the die to create the darker layer.  I used DPs I got from the fab Coops (thanks again) so dunno where they are from but they are stunning - such bright colours too!  The bunting is from a freebie stamp set I got a couple of months ago - are they called Molly Bloom or similar?)  Silly moo me thru the packaging out - how daft am I?  I paper pieced some of them so they stand out more.

Ingredients are:~
Digistamp 'Lilly and Flowers' from Digistamp Boutique coloured with PMs~
Ivory, Blush, Dusky Pink, Satin, Henna, Caramel, Cinnamon, Sandstone, Poppy, Ruby, Rose Pink, Moss & Marsh Green;
DPs were gift from Nic (Coops);
Ribbons and flowers from stash;
Sentiment CG;
Nellie Snellen Oval Die;
Molly Bloom? Freebie Bunting stamp set.

Winking Student

Good evening my lovely friends in blogland and I hope you are still enjoying this marvellous weather wherever you are in the world. It has been absolutley gorgeous here again today so Graham and I have been out in the garden all day trying to get it in good nick for the summer.  Looking better than it was earlier today but not quite there yet.....

I made this card earlier this morning with another of my new Sassy stamps - ain't she a sweety?

I hope I haven't offended anyone with my sentiment - I wanted it to be funny so spelt the name of a national optician's incorrectly and also put the last few letters upside down....does it work for you as it did me?

As usual I coloured her with PMs and then, in order to qualify for four challenges I recycled by using clear nailpolish on her lenses and also on the apple and I think it worked a treat - the reason I had to improvise is that my local craft shop is c**p at stocking things like glaze, good DST, stamps - in other words if you want to decoupage you are all right he he - but I am hoping to get to Barleylands in Essex sometime over the Easter weekend and there is a fabulous jam-packed shop there with absolutely everything I could ever need (apart from Simply Sassy stamps).  Back to the lenses now - it is very hard to see in the pics but if you look closely you can see it shining.

I am entering this one into the following challenges:~

Buttons are recycled from old clothes (I take all the buttons off of clothes that are no goood to sell at local Charity Shop as they can always be used in my crafting he he greedy or what??).

Hamish at Christmas

This is my second post for today and this wee card is for hubby - as he is a Scot too I think Hamish is appropriate!  Don't know how cold his goollies are tho!!?? HE HE!

Using backing paper from Dovecraft's Winter Wonderland range, Core'dinations Whitewash Collection and white & navy textured card I distressed all the edges (a fav pastime of mine at the mo) using a scissors (can't get the hang of my distress tool at all). Putting all this onto holographic silver card, I then added my image of Hamish from Funky Kits Sugar Nellie Home Grown range.  I made the snowflake embellishment using the silver card also.
Ingredients:~
Backing paper from Dovecraft Winter Wonderland Pack;
Card from Core'dinations Whitewash cardstock;
Navy and white textured card from Papermill Shop;
Image from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers ~
Hair ~ Caramel & Sandstone;
Skin ~ Ivory, Satin & Blush;
Clothing ~ China Blue, Pastel Blue, French Navy, Cornflower & Duck Egg;
Image edged in Cool Grey 1.

Madeline Bakes A Cake for Fairymoon Crafts

This is my third post for today so please trawl down to see the others.

We are experiencing a family crisis at the moment so I will aplogise in advance if I don't do any commenting this week or don't make any more cards.  Its nothing too serious but very stressful for us all.

My DT card for the Fairymoon Challenge No 34 is made following this fabulous sketch so I hope you will join in the fun!  Do come and play along........also go visit the other fairies to see what they have done with the fab sketch - their links are on the right under Fairymoon Crafts.  They are a very talented bunch of girls!

Using the gorgeous Madeline Bakes a Cake from Mamidoodles, I coloured her with Promarkers and layered her onto pink backing paper.  The pink spotty paper was then layered onto the same pink paper and finally matted onto green paper with swirls from My Minds Eye.  I dry embossed hearts and scallops onto the spotty paper for some dimension and then added a sentiment.  The icing on her cake and in the bowl has bright pink glitter but it is hard to see in the pic.

I am entering this into the following challenges:~

Autumn

Hello all,
Before I tell you about this card I have to tell you about our day out in London for my Birthday! Graham let me choose where to eat (opted for Chiquito's in Leicester Square which I adore) and then we went to see Shirley Valentine - the one woman show starring the fabulous Meera Syal (gran from The Kumars).  It is fabulous and very heart-tugging at times yet hilarious at other times.  She really pulled the audience in to the play as it was in the very intimate Trafalgar Studios on Whitehall.  If you get the chance to see it before it ends please do go or if you have already seen it I would love to know what you thought of it.

Anyways....onto todays' card.  Using the fabulous freebie image from the talented Inger Harding, I coloured her with Promarkers and matted and layered her onto pearlised brown and DP from Papermania's Hampstead range - I adore them just now - using a sentiment freebie from Rainbow Echo Designs which matches the image and DPs perfectly I think, I then added ribbons from my stash.  I distressed all the edges using a new (to me) technique - my tiny sewing scissors - and I much prefer the outcome of that than using my distressing tool that I recently purchased in The Range. I inked the edges too with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tattered Rose.

This one is going into the following challenges:~
I Love Promarkers Autumn;
Charisma Cardz Vintage;
Moving Along With The Times Anything Goes (who are lucky enough to have Letraset as their sponsors this week!) and
Sentimental Sundays Distressing.

Freebie Fairy

Well folks, I am still full of the cold, my head is thumping so hard and my ears are throbbing so yes I still have the cold. I haven't been outside the door today - isn't that disgusting? Still find time but not much energy to craft though.

This fairy was a freebie in a magazine last month and I have coloured her in Promarkers of various colours, and using Sketch Saturday's current sketch, matted and layered onto various colours of card from stash, added some ribbon (like how I knotted it in between each slit?), CG Sentiment using Carolinga font, added some rather dull blingy thingys and a photo corner in bottom left.
See how dull these cheap blingy thingys are in the above pic? Will not be buying them again from that cheap shop!!

Ingredients:~
All from stash.

Sorry not sure I am well enough to sit here and blog today, but you never know I may feel better later tonight. Apologies if I don't visit you....
Nearly forgot to say this is going into 3 challenges:~
Really appreciate your comments folks,
Happy Crafting over the weekend!

I am very pleased with the overall look of this card so it will be flying its way to my dear old Mam later in the week - she looks forward to getting her cards in the post and has a massive collection which she uses as and when required as I don't actually write on them but stick a note or letter inside so she CAN use them again. Talk about recycling - or are we both mean Scots! ~He He!

Wow is this our Indian Summer coming - its a glorious day again here in N London and I have to post this card about rain - never mind she is happy despite the rain on her head! Malcolm Mouse

Well we have another gorgeous day here in N London - tho there is a lovely breeze today that is just keeping the intense heat of the sun a bit more bearable than of late.
For those of you who follow my health problems - my neck does appear to have eased a bit. As a test, I have only taken half a dose of my strong painkiller this morning so I won't know til later on today how it is but fingers and everything else crossed that this injection has worked. Getting rid of or lessening this neck pain may or may not help with this fatigue I have. This card is for 2 challenges - Digistamp Boutique July competition and Moving Along with the Times current challenge.

I simply adore these images from DSB so I think I may have to get my credit card out and get some more. I used my Nesties Labels 2 for the first time too and have to say I am very impressed with the result.
Ingredients:~
Image freebie from DST 'Malcolm' coloured with PMs ~
Apple & meadow Green for his tshirt,
Satin, Pastel Pink & Dusky Rose for body & flower and
Cool Grey 1 to outline image;
Flower made with Sissix Flower Die;

Bella Bling!

Well I am back after a few days of doing NO cards at all. I have been feeling a bit 'off' - just unsure what was wrong with me.

I made this card using the fab image I won from the fab Monika some months ago - I think its a Stamping Bella - pls correct me if I am wrong. BLING BLING and MORE BLING! That's what Charisma Cardz 24 are asking for so using Moving Along With The Times fab sketch I popped up with this result. I made the gift tag to match to fall into the right place for The Creative Cottage Challenge and used cool grey tones for Craftilicious Challenge No 2.

Ingredients:~
Black glitter card from stash;
Image was a prize from Monika coloured with PMs:~
Cool Grey 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5;
Text paper from stash - think its Pink Petticoat;
Blingy stones fab find in The Works;
Charm handbag also from The Works;
Sentiment made on PC.

Tiny Tiddler

This is my first card this week. I am falling in love with my Sugar Nellies that I won earlier this year - I particularly like this one and was just waiting for the right challenge to come along to use her.I made the flowers myself with my Sizzix Bigz Build A Flower - there are 2 other parts to the flower but I feel they look out of place. I simply curled the petals under with the use of my small craft scissors and that made them look so 'full'.
The image reminds me of summer days when we lived on a farm near a small river - suppose it was really a burn (may need to be Scottish to know that word) - and my Granda used to take us down to look for tadpoles. Need less to say I never managed to get any in my jar!

I am entering this one into 4 challenges - I am getting better at linking to more challenges now-
Moving Along with The Times No 50 following their sketch;
Crafty Catz Embossing Challenge No 36 - all the dark green card is embossed using my Sizzix Lines and Circles folder;
the brand new Bunny Zoe's 'Nice & Girly' Challenge No 1.

Ingredients:~
Image is stamp Tiny Tiddles from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers (put back in box before I noted colours! oooops!);
Floral and Striped paper was freebie from mag;
Dark green card from stash;
Flowers handmade by moi with added jewel from stash;
and sentiment from stash.

Malcolm Mouse

Well today girls, tho it is a glorious day outside, my neck is giving me SO much pain I feel terrible and wish the day of my procedure would hurry up. Sounds a bit sadastic doesn't it? Wanting to go thru pain - but then the hope of relief is there for me at the end.
Onto my card for today - I used Malcolm Mouse for Digistamp Boutique June Challenge, coloured him with my PMs, followed the recipe of 2 different papers/3 buttons and 1 ribbon for I Love Promarkers Challenge No 17 and used the fab sketch by Moving Along With The Times No 49.
I am not very happy with the result but am putting that down to my pain threshold being low today.
Ingredients:~
Backing paper is from Funky Hand
Fawn paper from stash run thru my crimper
Dark brown from stash cut with Nestie
Gold fabric/ribbon and buttons from stash
Promarkers used ~
Apple & Forest Green for leaves and grass;Pastel Pink & Blossom for t-shirt and flower; Cinnamon,Caramel, Shale & Dusky Pink for mouse

Anniversary card

This one was made in the sunshine here this afternoon in North London!

It is for 3 things - our 11th Anniversary on 22nd July, Moving Along With The Times Challenge No 47 and Charisma Cardz Challenge No 20.

Following Hazel's sketch in MAWTT and Leanne's theme of 3D for Charisma's, I made this easel card using paper from Funky Hands WordBooks, matted and layered on gold and green card, sticking our fav pic of us in Egypt for Graham's 50th!
I added 2 brads on the bottom by the sentiment.

Hope you like it as I know Graham will love it!

This side view proves it is an easel card!
