Mirror Mirror on the wall......

Morning fellow bloggers.  I hope you are having better weather than we have here - it is dull with spots of rain and just thoroughly miserable today ~ where has the sunshine gone?

My card for today is using the Fabulous Darling from Simply Sassy at Funky Kits ~ ain't she simply sassy??!!

I used my Promarkers to colour her (details below) and, still using them, stamped several flowers using a Papermania set of floral clear stamps onto the background of the smooth white card from Rymans (it is fab for PMs); used them once more to create an exact match colour for backing piece of card.  I distressed the edges of all the card to create that vintage look and I think it is perfect for this papers too! The DP is Dovecraft Funky Vintage that I bought from The Range ~ I fell in love with it cos t reminds me of lots of clothes I used to wear in the late 70s and early eighties (now you know how young I am he he).  Oh I long for those days again..........

I am entering this into several challenges:~

Ingredients:~
Fabulous Darling rubber stamp from Simply Sassy range at Funky Kits (set 7 out on Saturday girls!!);
Coloured with PMs ~ Satin, Blush, Ivory, Dusky Pink, Mustard, Buttercup, Sandstone, Spice, Coral, Pear Green, Marsh Green and Moss;
DP from Dovecraft Funky Vintage;
Floral card stamped using PMs and Papermania clear stamp Floral;
Sentiment is CG;
Doily inked up using PMs to give perfect match colourwise;
Gems from stash.

What we been up to and Lilly and Flowers

Our beautiful baby Sooty missed us when we were away at the weekend but I have to say sorry for misleading you all - we weren't in Norfolk but in Suffolk. Just sitting directly on the border apparently!  We stayed in a lovely wee village pub in a place near Lopham and Redgrave Fens.  We spent two days walking on them chasing the wildlife and enjoying the tranquility of the place.  I got this fab pic of a robin just at the start of our second very long walk and wanted to share it with you all.
We also came across these stunning ponies that live wild on the fens - there were warning signs up saying not to approach them but they approached us thru a fence I have to say tho they did let me stroke them for a while.

Onto my card for today now.....this is for Lynne's friends wee girl Lily Mai.  She is a gorgeous wee angel!  Using a digi stamp I won drom Digistamp Boutique last year (Lilly and Flowers), I coloured her with my good old PMs (colours below), used a Nellie Snellen Oval Die and then cut around the outer shape of the die to create the darker layer.  I used DPs I got from the fab Coops (thanks again) so dunno where they are from but they are stunning - such bright colours too!  The bunting is from a freebie stamp set I got a couple of months ago - are they called Molly Bloom or similar?)  Silly moo me thru the packaging out - how daft am I?  I paper pieced some of them so they stand out more.

Ingredients are:~
Digistamp 'Lilly and Flowers' from Digistamp Boutique coloured with PMs~
Ivory, Blush, Dusky Pink, Satin, Henna, Caramel, Cinnamon, Sandstone, Poppy, Ruby, Rose Pink, Moss & Marsh Green;
DPs were gift from Nic (Coops);
Ribbons and flowers from stash;
Sentiment CG;
Nellie Snellen Oval Die;
Molly Bloom? Freebie Bunting stamp set.

I am entering this into the following challenges:~

Bugs'n'kisses

This is my second post for today - I am on a roll this afternoon.  I have the house to myself as Lynne is off out to see Michael (her fiancee) and my 2 wee boys are outside rolling around in the soil Graham turned over at the weekend - whoops there will be dust everywhere when they come in later!!

I hope you are all still enjoying this fabulous weather tho I heard on Radio 2 that it was 9degrees in Wick - well it would be way up there - no offence meant to anyone who lives there as I know it is a lovely town - been there- done that- got the tshirt.

Back to the card now - I had dug out my freebie Pink Petticaot stamps earlier so thought I would make use of them again with this New Home/ Just for You/ Just to Say/whatever card.  Using my Papermania Swiss Dots Embossing Folder I managed to emboss the whole of the front with a bit of fiddling around I have to add - I was seeing spots flashing all over by the time I had figured it all out dopey me!! - then I cut out the frame of one of my Nellie Snellen Square Dies and then thought I could use what was left instead of the square I had meant to cut if you know what I mean?  Are you still with me?...........
I used the wee house stamp and coloured it with PMs - colours to follow below - then coloured the background with them too - new for me (saw Nikki from Polka Doddles on C&C demonstrating this a couple of weeks ago) and I am quite happy with the result.  Distressed edges too.  Sentiment is from same stamp set.
This card is a bit different for me as I am following hte rules that Nic set for Passion for Promarkers challenge -  if my card doesn't fit challenge girls just ignore me pls -  I have to say I struggled with not covering up all the front of the card so not sure how I will get on with Less Is More!!

Ingredients:~
Stamp was a freebie from Pink Petticoat (see prev post for details);
Coloured with PMs~ Pastel Blue, Duck Egg, Apple, Meadow Green, Moss, Dusky Rose, Coral, Pastel Pink, Dusky Pink, Sandstone, Vanilla, Blush, Ivory, Satin, Cool Grey 1 & 2;
Nellie Snellen Square Die;
Papermania Ssiss Dots Embossing folder;
Paper and ribbong from stash.

Happy craftin' and I  hope to visit some of your fabulous blogs tonight to return some comments.

My Mojo is Back.....

I would like to thank you all for your kind wishes during my spell of non-crafting.  I am on the mend now thankfully and able to craft for a couple of hours each day along with light housework but no heavy lifting like shopping etc but that suits me at the mo. Graham and Lynne are being great getting shopping done and chores etc.

This card is my first challenge entry since my mojo came back and I thoroughly enjoyed making it.  I felt like I was in heaven sitting at the table with all my bits and bobs around me messy again he he!

Using the gorgeous Simply Sassy Stardust rubber stamp (which I got in a gift from a fabulous crafting buddy of mine - you know who you are.....!! and I am eternally grateful to you !), I coloured her with Promarkers, cut her out using a Nellie Snellen die and my BigShot, layered her onto a coral coloured shape I cut 'around' the Die (TY Jenni for that fab tip), the sentiment and spotty card are mounted onto same coral card and whole thing stuck onto fabulous DP from Funky Hand Papercraft Factory.  The embellishment stars I made using a freebie stamp and same DPs.

This image below shows clearer the stars that I made myself - I don't often think of stamping onto patterned paper but this worked a treat.
And finally this close up shows just how beautiful Stardust is - I have found that colouring her really is an art and she needs lots of layers of bright inks.  I have to let you allinto a secret that I have ordered the new Simply Sassy rubber stamps from Funky Kits so hopefully they will be dropping thru my letterbox tomorrow or Wed.

I am entering this into the following challenges~

Sketch Saturday - used there fab sketch again;
Get Funky - Spots and stripes;
FabNFunky All Spotty and Dotty and
Passion for Promarkers Make Your own Embellishments (which I did!).

Ingredients:~
Stamp Stardust from Simply Sassy range at Funky Kits coloured with PMs~
Ivory, Satin, Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink, Coral, Dusky Rose, Pastel Blue, Duck Egg, Moss, Sandstone, Caramel & Shale;
DPs are 'Joyful & Triumphant' from Papercraft Factory CD from Funky Hand;
Sentiment is freebie from Rainbow Echo Designs (Thanks so much for sharing);
Embellishments are freebie clear stamp from Simply Homemade magazine Issue 1 (Molly Blooms Rubberstamps);

Several cards for you & Challenge Entry

Hello blogger friends,

I am pleased to say that I am now able to craft so have managed over the last few days to come up with some creations to share with you - they are for nothing in particular - just for fun and to get my juices flowing again!

I have recovered well and see my neurosurgeon at the end of May to get the all clear to live my life as normal!  I am still taking one/two strong painkiller per day but that is due to the fact that I had become addicted to them and have to wean myself off them.  Some of you may know the horrific side-effects of withdrawal from these awful pills so you will know what I am going thru right now!  I will get off them completely in time but it may be some months yet but getting there.....

I have to thank many of you for the lovely cards and crafting goodies you have sent me to cheer me up.  I always knew there was lots of special folk out there - it just took crafting for me to locate you all!!

So please have a look at what I have managed up til now - I cannot promise to return your kind comments as I still have to limit my time at the PC etc.

Crafty Cardmakers DT card

This week over at Crafty Cardmakers Challenge Blog we are looking for Stitching ~ either real or faux ~ so get your tiny needles, your machines or your pens out crafters.
I opted to use real stitching but wish I hadn't now as my stitching is awful - have to say its down to the fact that the tips of both my fingers I sew with are numb due to nerve damage and this is the first time I have used them since it happened - NO I DO NOT SEW WITH MY FINGERS - I use a needles but you all understood me!!

Using the beautiful Sarah Kay stamp (from my lovely friend Kathleen - thank you), I used PMs to colour her but wanted to keep the whole card simple so only used pink & grey. The backing paper is from Bearly Mine and I have to say I have fallen in love with it - isn't it stunning? The sentiment is computer-generated using Girls Are Weird font and I stitched the end of them together in grey thread.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ingredients:~
Sarah Kay stamp coloured with Promarkers in Rose Pink and Cool Grey 1 & 2;
DP is freebie from Bearly Mine.
We are so pleased for her as she currently works as a Health Care Support Worker and is so good at her job she is wasted there and needs to further her skills and knowledge by doing this course.
I coloured her with my good old Promarkers, matted and layered her onto card and mounted her onto this lovely shaped sidestepper - do visit my DT buddy Vix if you would like to know where it comes from. I added a frill along the bottom using tissue paper that came in the box with new trainers - never throw anything away me!! Well you never know when you may be able to use it!! Chloe by Jenni
Well folks, I have caught the cold that so many people seem to have at the moment down here and I feel like s**t. I recently bought this beautiful digi image from Jenni at Cardmadfairy Creations along with another two which you will be able to see very soon. I think she is adorable in her bonny party frock (as we Scots say) looking bashful (or is that a guilty look I spy?). No matter, she is a wee honey! I coloured her with my PMs and mounted her on to black linen paper after inking the edges. Using 2 backing papers from Pink Petticoat Lola's Boudoir Range in black & white, I matted and layered again after inking; the dotty embossed paper is white linen paper put thru my BS with Papermania embossing folder; flowers are made using PP paper again and Marianne's Dies; the swirls are actually from a Sissix photo corner set I found in the sale bin at a nearby craft shop and the sentiment and pearls are both from my stash.
Those glorious folds in her dress really make me wanna dance right now but feeling so ill I can hardly keep my wee eyes open.
This card is going into the following challenges:~
Ingredients:~
Image 'Chloe' from Jenni coloured with PMs ~
Skin - Satin, Blush & Ivory,
Hair - Primrose 7 Sandstone,
Dress - Pastel Blue, Cornflower, China Blue & Duck Egg;
Marianne's Floral Dies and Sissix Photo Corners;
Papers from Pink Petticoat & Papermill Shop;
Sparkles on dress from Glitzit.
Thanks you very much for commenting and please forgive me if I do not visit you over the next few days but I think I will need a couple of days in bed (and a hot toddy or two perhaps!).
Take care all and happy crafting :)X
Pink Pringle
It's been a while since Pringle has been out to play but he has come out today and I have colored him PINK! Poor Pringle I hear you say.....I thought he was perfect for Pollycraft's Cute & Cuddly; Creative Inspirations Pink & Black; Passion for Promarkers Make Your Own Flowers and Sketch Saturday's No 121. I have inked the edges of the Nellie Snellen oval and the pink/white lush paper with Distress Ink, added ribbon and floers made with my Bigshot and Marianne's flowers. Mirri board and a light baby pink papers are underneath all of this. I am not sure the colour of the bunny now matches the papers but its too late now!
I just love the shape of his/her big fat rotund belly! Makes me wanna give him/her a hug right now........
I am very pleased with these flowers that I made with pink & black paper and used a thin pen to round off the petals to make them more 3D; the underneath ones are bent back and the two at the front are curled forwards. Think I may make a stash of these one evening while watching Eastenders - I have loads of empty washing tablet plastic boxes I can store them in - smell nice too.
Ingredients:~
Pringle image from Funky Kits coloured with PMs~
Cool Grey 2 & 3;
Dusky Rose, Pastel Pink and Blossom;
Papers from stash,
Ribbon and sentiment from stash too.
Thanks for looking - really appreciate all your comments :)X
