Ruby Fairy

This is my second post for today - my neck is now feeling a bit less painful so I made this while Graham was doing some 'work from home' - checking work emails and catching up with phone calls etc.

I used my Bigshot and Spellbinder Lables Two to cut this card shape from a 5 x 5 white card.  It is a tad small but ideal for party invites or for posting now that mail is measured and weighed in the UK!  Its a con I think just to get more money from us but what can we do apart from not post anything - but it is SO nice to hear the plop of the letterbox (or whatever sound your box makes he he!!).

 The stamp is one that I won some time ago in a blog candy in aid of Cancer from Sue (Sue's Ramblings if I am correct) and this is the first time I have stamped her up - have to say I love how she came out and am sure you will be seeing a lot more of them (I won several different ones).  Its not that easy to see but I have glittered her wings and the hem of her fabulous dress.

Daughter's 8X8 Bday card

God I feel so old - I can't believe my daughter Lynne will be 26 year old on 7th June!  Where have those years gone cos I don't know where?  She started her first Uni placement (she is doing Advanced Diploma in Nursing at Uni of Herts at Hatfield) this morning and loked very smart in her crisp royal blue uniform.  Wouldn't let me take any pics tho!! 
I am sorry for not being a good buddy this last week but someone banged into me at a very fast rate on Thursday and I had vertigo all afternoon and evening but ok now.  Then my big (and only) bro arrived with his fiancee from Holland on their way to Perth.  Had to laugh as his new Sat Nav took him from Dover all the way thru the Blackwall Tunnel and up thru Hackney, Stoke Newington and Tottenham then onto the A10 to get to ours when in truth he should have nipped onto the M25 and been here in a couple of hours instead of the 4 it took them!!  Same thing happened on their journey north to Scotland on Saturday....they ended up going thru Jedburgh as they were so fed up of the woman's voice of the darned thing!!

Anyways onto this card for Lynne............

Using this stunning image, I coloured her with PMs (details below) then mounted her onto pearlised brown then dry embossed gold mirri card.  The card is 8X8 and I have to say I have LOVED working with this size so gonna have to get some more for future projects.  The red and gold spotty card is from The Works that I bought ages ago - and it seems to breed in my stash!!  I followed a sketch and added decorated corners using red embossed card and the same brown card and added a gold coloured ribbon from my stash.  Onto the flowers which I made meself he he - chuffed to bits as they cale out exactly as I hoped for.  All I did was use my Bigshot and a Spellbindeer ans cut 8 of each size, spritzed them with water and allowed them to dry naturally - hence the curled up look - then stuck a fancy brad thru them both.  The sentiment I made on the PC - wanted to keep it simple so as not to distract the eye......sideways view show depth of card - or it is meant to he he........

This close up shows the glitter I added to her headpiece, her choker, her dress and her feathery behind!!

Luv a Latte

This is my second post for today so pls pop down and see my other card first!!

Don't ya all just love a latte?  I do especially a Starbucks, Cafe Nero or Costa!!  Would love to meet up with some of you to have a lovely warm latte if we lived closer together............mmmmmmmmm!!

This card is for the following challenges:~

Using the gorgeous Luv a Latte from Funky Kits Simply Sassy range, I coloured her with my Promarkers in Ivory, Satin, Blush, Duck Egg, Cornflower, Pastel Blue, China Blue and Cool Grey1.  I mounted the image on Co'ordinations Whitewash and sanded down the surface after putting it thru my paper crimper (to make it look like wood as per Sugar Bowl's challenge).  The DPs are from My Minds Eye again (trying to tidy up my papers), the doily is from my mate Mandy (thank you), the ribbon, gems and flower are from my stash.

I really am adoring these fab new images and think I will have to sneak an order in again when Graham goes back to work on Monday morning!  To be truthful he doesn't mind me spending his money on crafting bits and bobs because he sees the enjoyment I get from them!!  I would feel less guilty if I had some income of my own but with not working due to my bad neck and not qualifying for any benefits I am well and trully broke!!

Ella with Flowers

I am getting really upset because I am not able to craft as much as I want to with my bad neck - and yes I am STILL waiting to hear when my op will be despite chasing them up twice already!! (can you guess I am not good at waiting for things to happen?) - but I have come up with htis card for several challenges ~

Using the ever so cute Ella with Flowers from Digistamp Boutique I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut out the shape using a Nellie Snellen die inking the edges with a PM.  Following Sketch Saturday's sketch, the DPs are from Funky Hand's Very Funky Blue for Boys range and darak brown pearlised paper from my stash.  The flowers I made using a Marianne Die Cut with the same papers and added a pearl gem to the centres.  The sentiment is computer generated - easy to do when you have access to a printer etc.

Well another week is halway thru - life is so fast when you pass 50 you now!!  SO make the most of it if you are reading this and have not yet reached that age ha ha!  Not much happening here - the house is dead quiet as Lynne is off up to Scotland to see my Mam for a week but we are rabbit-sitting.  We have Buttons over as my son and dil are off to the Lakes for a few days so hope the weather stays nice for them all.

This card was made a few days ago but only just getting around to posting it on here - my neck has been very sore the last few days (don't think the cold weather helps at all) and sitting at the PC is not easy for me.  I am trying to pluck up courage to call my consultant's PA to arrange an appt for op - wish I could just pick the phone up and do it right now but it is such a huge step fo go for elective surgery if it is not totally necessary - but I know it IS necessary for me.

Using the fabulous Best Fishes stamp I won in Sugar Nellie's blog (for no apparent reason) I coloured him with my Promarkers and used BP from Funky Hand's Colour Me Happy (Jovial Man) and embellishments I also won in a blog candy draw.  Not at all happy with the outcome of this card but hey ho I can't be good all the time......I am entering it into The Sugar Bowl and Totally Papercrafts Stick a Number On It.

Well the weekend is almost upon us again! We have had a gorgeous day here in London but it is already starting to get a bit chilly as usual in the evenings.

I haven't been a very good blogger this week - our PC has been very slow but Graham has just moved the Wireless USB thingy and it is now so fast I can't keep up with it. And we had been thinking it was on the way out.....oops!

Just to update you on my recent wins ~ I got a 3rd place in a recent PolkaDoodles Challenge - not sure what I have won yet; I won 5 digi images from Digistamp Boutique so look out for the cards very soon; from Funky Hand I won a Birthday Freebie; Passion for Promarkers I have won something too (think its a voucher) and in the I Love PMs I won $15 to spend at Simon Says - I opted for 2 WoJ stamps and they arrived from the US the other day! I have been having a lucky streak lately!

Anyway, on to my next two cards - putting them both on the same post to save time for me as Graham is taking me to the Craft Shop at Crews Hill (it has been refurbished and is now stocking lots more crafty bits thankfully). Vintage Summer

Hi all, Well I am plased to say the rain has not gotten here yet! The clouds are looking very ominous so think I better go find my two wee boys - Sooty and Sweep - they are loving this nice weather and are out playing in the garden from morning til night! Only pop into the house every so often to make sure we are still around (and for a cuddle from Mammy of course). I got a bit lost with this card as it is supposed to be vintage, seaside and summerfun!! Yikes!! The only vintage thing is my brain today! But I will enter it into the challnge anyway - at least the sentiment looks vintage!

Summer swirls

Using backing paper and image from My Craft Studio, I coloured it with my PMs and decoupaged some parts (birds and flowers to be exact!!) I also made the flower but not at all happy with the outcome of that attempt! My neck is awful now so this will be short post - sorry girls - I know how much you like to nose around lives he he!

A work mate of Lynne's has gone on maternity leave and is due any day now so, in prep, I made this card - have also done a boy's one too but will post that next as this one is for some challenges. Using a stunning image I got from a friend and coloured it with PMs, layered onto card from Papermill Shop and added ribbon and button.

My mojo is on overload today - a second card for another 4 challenges. This time its for Polka Doodles 'Nursery Rhyme' Challenge; Totally Papercrafts 'Animal Magic' Challenge; Bugaboo Challenge (to use national colours etc) and Creative Inspirations 'Monochrome' Challenge No 36.

Using freebie papers from Fred She Said I created this to tie in with all 4 challenge recipes. I adore this image and as usual coloured him in with my PMs.

Another of my Mangas!

Hello all, Today's card I made using a My Craft Studio backing paper with footballs on; my Manga coloured in with my PMs matted and layered onto card from stash; faux stitches around image and also on the inside; and a cup made with holographic mirriboard. Sentiment from PC 'Fancy a Kick About?'

















I am entering this one into 4 challenges (the most I have managed to enter with one card!!) as follows ~

Yummy!

Tonight's card is for Totally Papercraft's Photo Inspiration Challenge - hence the pic with the strawberries and glasses on the left.

I used paper from Pink Petticoat's Lola Rose Boudoir Rainbow Collection in Cranberry for the floral and in Chocolate for the paper with french text - it says 'tres chic', mon amie', 'ooh la la', 'l'amour' etc. I also put some white card thru my paper crimper for layering. You can see that I rolled the paper down to create some volume - hope it works.

I added a felt flower I made with a bow attached just because.......

My image is ........Ruby from Bugaboo - a freebie today. I coloured her in with Promarkers and added glitter to the water and bubbles and also to the top of her chocs - you can just about see it before the chocs melt!! He He!

Wedding card

This one is for my daughter-in-law's cousin who gets married in July to the beautiful Bonnie.

I am entering it into Totally Papercraft's Wedding/Anniversary Challenge and Crafty Cardmakers' Inside Out Challenge.

Using card blank, pearlised ivory paper and glittered paper all from Papermill Shop, I very lightly coloured the groom with Promarkers and added glitter to the bride's dress, veil and flowers. Printing pearlised paper with text ~ Love, Honour, Cherish ~ I matted and layered the image and added a white ribbon. The font used is Scriptina which I think looks very elegant.

This image is very blurred but I wanted it to show the sparkle of the glitter on the image of Lola Rose adn her new hubby!

The other image at the top shows the insert - which is what Crafty Cardmakers are looking for in their current challenge.

I didn't want to make it too fancy as I thought it would spoil the elegance of the card front.
