Crafty Cardmakers Challenge

Over at Crafty Cardmakers this week, we are looking for you to Step Away From The Square - simples - create anything other than a square card. Do go along and see my fellow DT fabulous work - they are a very talented bunch of girls who I am very proud to be associated with.

My creation this week is using the fabulous 'Inspire' image from Jenni. I folded the front of a DL card in half, matted and layered the beautiful image (after I had altered the colour using My Craft Studio), inked the edges with Black Archival ink from Whispers, added a lovely charm and sentiment, and stuck on some blingy thingys! I am a bit disappointed with my creation this week as I have had a stinker of a cold and wanted to do Jenni's digi image more justice than I have. Sorry Jenni!

I am entering this into Polka Doodles Fancy Folding Challenge - haven't the energy to find any others it will fit!!

Do go along to see Jenni's fabulous digi images!

Miss You Mum

I made this special card for my dear old Mam who lives 600 miles away in North East Scotland. We phone each other every Sunday night and last night she said that she hadn't seen or heard from my younger sister (who lives 10 miles from her) for over a month. This really upsets me as the whole family stood over my Dad's grave 10 years ago and said we were going to look after Mam.

I know she will love this card (I try to send her on once a week).

I used my Earth Fairy Freebie from Pollycraft, coloured with my PMs, and matted and layered her on blue and orange paper from stash then stuck it all down on Dovecraft's Retro Floral.
I added buttons, ribbon and bows and made a sentiment on the PC.
I am entering this into Polka Doodles Something for Mum using blue/beige/orange Challenge No 20.

BDay for my handsome son!

This card is for Neil who will be 27 on 10th July - Gawd I feel old!!

Using Freebie papers from Polka Doodles, I created 'road like' background for the icartoon images from the Net which I partly coloured in with Promarkers.

I added bicycle tyres to match CPS Card Sketch No 167. Sentiment maded on PC and layered on holographic mirriboard.

I know this card will bring a giggle to Neil and his new wife's face as his cycling is a HUGE part of their relationship!

I am also entering it into The Creative Cottage 'One for the Boys' Challenge No 11.

Pretty fed up today with the pain in my neck - really getting me down just now but whey hey it could be a lot worse eh?

Polka Doodles Father's Day Card

This card is for Lynne (daughter) top give to Graham (her stepdad) - they do not always see eye-to-eye, but on the whole do get on with each other.
It is being entered into Polka Doodles Challenge No 19 - Dimension and Texture using their fabulous freebie this week!
This fab freebie is not just for use for Father's Day but for many other occasions.

I used my new paper crimper (grabbed it over the weekend while Graham was looking for storage boxes for his shed! I mean how can he NEED anything else for his shed??!!) to create texture in the navy blue card (from stash) and also on the 'ribbons' under the sentiment.

I left the right hand side of the text paper free to slip in the bookmark I also made from the same papers. Then finished that off with striped ribbon from stash.

Hope Lynne is happy with the outcome!
