Vintage Sewing

Good morning my friends and welcome to my new followers too - don't be shy, leave me a comment and then I can come visit you too.  This card is a bit defferent for me as I haven't touched any colouring medium but have simply used digi images and digi papers.  That is an out and out lie as I have just noticed I used a gold gel pen to 'fill in' the text. Sorry!
Using the ever so bright Funky Hand girl digi paper, I inserted fabulous Vintage Sewing digi images from the very talented SJMusings onto the paper before printing.  She has a fabulous range of digis and also has an even more fab range of clear stamps with adorable angels on them so do go along and have a look at her fab blog.

I am entering this into the following challenges:~

Get Funky May Recipe Challenge - do go along and play - you do need to use a Funky Hand item on your project BUT the lovely Anice has some stunning papers for FREE!!;

Very Exciting News for Me!!

Hello my friends, I promised you exciting news and here it is ......................................................I have been spotlighted on Simply Sassy Blog today!!  The very talented Marie has chosen me and I am so priveleged and proud to be there - for me, this is the Ultimate Crafter Dream - to be posted on your favourite Stamp's Blog by the Design Team!!  I think I have died and gone to heaven!!  How childish am I?? Act your age Sheila not your shoe size he he!!

I would like to extend a massive thanks to the Simply Sassy Design Team for showing my cards on their fabulous blog!!

This is a card I have made especially for showcasing using the stunning Butterflies and Pigtails.   Following the sketch from Sketch Saturday's current challenge (rotated), I used Freeibe DPs from Papercraft Essentials, my PMs to colour the image, black & white cardstock, 2 dies and a Xcut border punch.

 The close up shows how I coloured the stamped image using my Promarkers - they are my fav medium for colouring but I was going to take Kerry's (the very talented Pickle) advice and try out the Prisma pencils but money is tight at the mo so they will need to wait a month or so.
I am going to enter this into the following challenge:~

Sketch Saturday's challenge - I rotated the sketch so hope this is still allowed.

My Mojo is Back.....

I would like to thank you all for your kind wishes during my spell of non-crafting.  I am on the mend now thankfully and able to craft for a couple of hours each day along with light housework but no heavy lifting like shopping etc but that suits me at the mo. Graham and Lynne are being great getting shopping done and chores etc.

This card is my first challenge entry since my mojo came back and I thoroughly enjoyed making it.  I felt like I was in heaven sitting at the table with all my bits and bobs around me messy again he he!

Using the gorgeous Simply Sassy Stardust rubber stamp (which I got in a gift from a fabulous crafting buddy of mine - you know who you are.....!! and I am eternally grateful to you !), I coloured her with Promarkers, cut her out using a Nellie Snellen die and my BigShot, layered her onto a coral coloured shape I cut 'around' the Die (TY Jenni for that fab tip), the sentiment and spotty card are mounted onto same coral card and whole thing stuck onto fabulous DP from Funky Hand Papercraft Factory.  The embellishment stars I made using a freebie stamp and same DPs.

This image below shows clearer the stars that I made myself - I don't often think of stamping onto patterned paper but this worked a treat.
And finally this close up shows just how beautiful Stardust is - I have found that colouring her really is an art and she needs lots of layers of bright inks.  I have to let you allinto a secret that I have ordered the new Simply Sassy rubber stamps from Funky Kits so hopefully they will be dropping thru my letterbox tomorrow or Wed.

I am entering this into the following challenges~

Sketch Saturday - used there fab sketch again;
Get Funky - Spots and stripes;
FabNFunky All Spotty and Dotty and
Passion for Promarkers Make Your own Embellishments (which I did!).

DPs are 'Joyful & Triumphant' from Papercraft Factory CD from Funky Hand;
Sentiment is freebie from Rainbow Echo Designs (Thanks so much for sharing);

I am getting really upset because I am not able to craft as much as I want to with my bad neck - and yes I am STILL waiting to hear when my op will be despite chasing them up twice already!! (can you guess I am not good at waiting for things to happen?) - but I have come up with htis card for several challenges ~

Using the ever so cute Ella with Flowers from Digistamp Boutique I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut out the shape using a Nellie Snellen die inking the edges with a PM.  Following Sketch Saturday's sketch, the DPs are from Funky Hand's Very Funky Blue for Boys range and darak brown pearlised paper from my stash.  The flowers I made using a Marianne Die Cut with the same papers and added a pearl gem to the centres.  The sentiment is computer generated - easy to do when you have access to a printer etc.

I am entering this into the following challenges ~

Special Christmas Card

This special card is personalised for my son and his wife for Christmas.  They are both quite modern and funky therefore I followed Get Funky's sketch to make this fab card for them. Using 3 papers from their Funky Hand's Funky Daze CD (Friday Night Out range), I distressed tehedges for effect and added red and white card for backing. The 'washing-line' effect if from My Craft Studio Professional CD.  The sentiment is computer generated and using Scriptina font. The ribbon and the red metallic pen are from my stash and the lace edge is a recent purchase from a small garden centre near to Mam's home in Scotland.  The white lace under the heart is actually the backing paper to the lilac lace - waste not, want not thats me!!  I am a Scot after all!!!

Obvious really but I am entering this into Get Funky's Challenge!!  Do dome and join me as they have fab prizes each month!!

Best Fishes

Well another week is halway thru - life is so fast when you pass 50 you now!!  SO make the most of it if you are reading this and have not yet reached that age ha ha!  Not much happening here - the house is dead quiet as Lynne is off up to Scotland to see my Mam for a week but we are rabbit-sitting.  We have Buttons over as my son and dil are off to the Lakes for a few days so hope the weather stays nice for them all.

This card was made a few days ago but only just getting around to posting it on here - my neck has been very sore the last few days (don't think the cold weather helps at all) and sitting at the PC is not easy for me.  I am trying to pluck up courage to call my consultant's PA to arrange an appt for op - wish I could just pick the phone up and do it right now but it is such a huge step fo go for elective surgery if it is not totally necessary - but I know it IS necessary for me.

Using the fabulous Best Fishes stamp I won in Sugar Nellie's blog (for no apparent reason) I coloured him with my Promarkers and used BP from Funky Hand's Colour Me Happy (Jovial Man) and embellishments I also won in a blog candy draw.  Not at all happy with the outcome of this card but hey ho I can't be good all the time......I am entering it into The Sugar Bowl and Totally Papercrafts Stick a Number On It.

Happy Memories of My Dad

It is 10 years on 17th November since I lost my dear Dad to a massive heart attack and to commemmorate the day I have made this Memory Book to give to Mam. I am going home to spend the week with her as she took his death very bad and has never come to terms with it. I have a younger sister who lives locally but she is useless, an older sister who is estranged from all the family and a dear brother who lives in The Netherlands so I want to be there myself to help Mam thru this horrid time of the year. It will also be a thank you visit as she was a rock for me when I had Ovarian Cancer last year and came down to 'look after' us all - I love her to bits as most of you will know. Back to the memory book ~ using a chipboard book I bought for this purpose many months in advance from The Blueberry Barn, I covered the pages with 6 different backing papers from Funky Hand Colour Me Happy CD, and added a hammered card (edged with Distress Ink) margin for added strength. Adding lots of pics of Dad at various stages in his life, I decorated the pages with various things - Sizzix photo corners in various papers and card; Cardstock Father Stickers from BoBunny; brass coloured brads; Ribbons in royal blue, beige, pale blue & navy with stitching, navy & white striped; brown hemp; pearls; cream rub-on letters; yellow paper daffodils and a lush pale blue rose and some computer-generated sentiments.
I added a 2-sided tag which I made from the tag on a pair of jeans that can be tucked in the pocket on the inside of the front cover.

Pics include some of Dad on his own - one when he was in the RAF regiment and the other when he was celebrating something (lots of Guinness glasses on the table!)........

.............. pics of him and Mam on their wedding day, on various holidays throughout their married life and at Graham and I's wedding in 1999.....................

.....................of him always being surrounded by kids (as an uncle to many) and as a dear Dad to my oldest sister (who is now estranged) and my brother ..............................

.........................to me and also my younger sister; then as a darling Granda to Jennifer, Susan & Tracey................

.....................then to Mandy, Mark & Michelle.......................then to my two, Neil & Lynne.............

and finally to Natalie & Daniel.

This book took me some time to make as I had everything ready but simply could not put it all together - I am sure some of you will be able to relate to that feeling I had and, although it will be 10 years since his passing, I feel he is with us everything second on every day in some way.
Its not been easy but I am entering this into 2 challenges :~

Fabulous Funky Floral Fantasy!

I have two cards to share with you guys tonight - this first one is for Anice at Get Funky's Fabulous Funky Floral Fantasy 3D flowers Challenge! Phew got that out eventually! I had fun doing this with NO image or Promarkers!

I would like to thank Anice for picking me as a Birthday Winner on the last Challenge over there at Get Funky! Using the fabulous papers from Funky Hand's Colour Me Happy CD I tore the paper into 3 strips using my fancy ruler (don't know the technical name for it but you guys will - ruler with no straight edges!! he he), stuck them onto pink backing paper and added 3 handmade flowers - again using their papers - details below.

Ingredients:~
Papers from Funky Hand's Colour Me Happy CD - Contented Coffee & Merry Berry ranges;

Colour Me Happy from FunkyHand

As many of you know FunkyHand have a brand new cd-rom Colour Me Happy which I could not resist when I saw it. If you don't already know it has 12 colour coordinated design selections each with 23 trendy backing papers, resizable alphabet characters and a worbook processor for your own bespoke WordBook. It also has 35 resizable digistamps - they are all so cute. The papers used on this card are from one of those collections and the colours were just perfect for paper piecing this beach hut digistamp freebie from SJMusings. NO PROMARKERS USED!! AAAAHHH!

BUT I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed paper piecing then mounting them on foam pads so they stood out.
My pics aren't great tonight - the sentiment is a dictionary quote of 'summer' - the season between spring and autumn; the period from the middle of May to the end of August; a period of hot, usually sunny weather. The ribbons are from my stash and the Ribbon Brad is from Papermania.
This is for th efollowing challenges:~

Malcolm Mouse

Well today girls, tho it is a glorious day outside, my neck is giving me SO much pain I feel terrible and wish the day of my procedure would hurry up. Sounds a bit sadastic doesn't it? Wanting to go thru pain - but then the hope of relief is there for me at the end.
Onto my card for today - I used Malcolm Mouse for Digistamp Boutique June Challenge, coloured him with my PMs, followed the recipe of 2 different papers/3 buttons and 1 ribbon for I Love Promarkers Challenge No 17 and used the fab sketch by Moving Along With The Times No 49.
I am not very happy with the result but am putting that down to my pain threshold being low today.

Dark brown from stash cut with Nestie
Gold fabric/ribbon and buttons from stash

Using Sketch No 67 from Inspirational Card Sketches, I coloured Codi from Pollycraft with my PMs. Details below.

The sentiment is something I heard some time ago in a conversation between two elderly ladies. I used Amadeus font.

Pink paper from Funky Hands Wordbooks 'LoveNStuff' Extras;

Summer Blooms

This card is for Pollycraft's Summer Blooms Challenge No 44.

The backing paper is actually a one off - I was printing off some Funky Hand paper yesterday and I hadn't noticed that 2 of the inks on the printer were very low - hence I ended up with green papers instead of a mocha burgundy colour!

The flowers are from papers from Pink Petticoat and the image is Fearn from Pollycraft coloured with Promarkers and glittered on the wings, dress and flowers!

A close up pic of the sentiment I made up all by myself - Summer Blooms; Sunny Rays; Fairy Wishes; Happy Days!
Little white flowers from stash - think they are from Paperchase.
My Blogger is playing up at the mo so I will say sorry for the look of this post now - preview looks perfect but actual published it looks terrible. Sorry!

Square Petal Card

This card is for Get Funky's Shaped Cards May Challenge.
Using their papers ( from the extras in 'Anyone For Coffee' in the Funky WordBooks CD), I cut 3 different sized square petals and a flower with a Nestie, I fixed them all together with a brass brad from Paperchase.

The sentiment I added using Scriptina from the PC.
I am not 100% happy with this card as my neck is very very painful today and I am still feeling very lethargic and generally down. I am seeing my GP next week so hopefully will get all the blood and urine results then - I never call for my results - I think if there was anything serious wrong then she would contact me!!
