Hippy Chick

 Hello my friends, and I hope your weather is as nice as it is here today in North London.  Sunny, warm(ish) and a light breeze. Perfect!

Today's card was made yesterday but couldn't get it uploaded here as my neck has been playing up the  last couple of days.  Can't put my finger on where the pain is tho but it doesn't feel like it was before my op - I do wonder if it is muscular as I am using muscles that have been asleep for over 3years.  I had a lovely warm soapy bath last night and that helped a bit.

I have used the gorgeous Hippy Chick and coloured her with my Promarkers (not sure I like the black and white look but have to try it).  The DP is from My Craft Studio Professional and is just a simple background paper with a floral design - perfect for this hip chick I think!  The black scalloped paper was made using an Xcut edger and the flowers I made all by meeself!!  They are hard to make out on the pics but all I did was cut a circle of black paper, then cut a spiral shape into it and coiled them together!! Hey Presto flowers!!  I like the distressed look on these fab Simply Sassy images so I did the edgs of the card I used with my scissors - can't get the hang of the distress tool I bought - may be I need to try another brand - any ideas girls?
Ingredients:~
Hippy Chick Rubbr Stamp from Funky Kits;
PMs used~ Cool Grey 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, Ivory, Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink;
DP from MCS Professional;
Ribbon and stamens from stash;
Xcut edger punch;
handmade flowers;
Rubber sentiment stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps (got it in a gift).

Jenni's Birdie

This is my second post fro tonigh tso pls scroll down to see anothe card.

This particular card has been made using Jenni's fabulous new Birdie image.

I paper-pieced the image using a freebie paper from somewhere and then stamped swirls and flowers on the body of the bird to compliment the paper.  The brown main DP is a fab brown coloured freebie from Bearly Mine (sorry it looks a dire green colour in the pic - think the light in the kitchen was all wrong for it).  The stunning ribbon is from The Works and it is such a lovely colour of mocha it matched perfectly.  The buttons are pink too even tho they look an awful peach colour ~ I really want to get into my craft room very soon so that I can set up a 'photo' area where the light will be ideal.

This is my first twisted easel but I am not entirely sure I like the 'shape' so think I will stick to normal easel cards from now on.

My Mojo is Back.....

I would like to thank you all for your kind wishes during my spell of non-crafting.  I am on the mend now thankfully and able to craft for a couple of hours each day along with light housework but no heavy lifting like shopping etc but that suits me at the mo. Graham and Lynne are being great getting shopping done and chores etc.

This card is my first challenge entry since my mojo came back and I thoroughly enjoyed making it.  I felt like I was in heaven sitting at the table with all my bits and bobs around me messy again he he!

Using the gorgeous Simply Sassy Stardust rubber stamp (which I got in a gift from a fabulous crafting buddy of mine - you know who you are.....!! and I am eternally grateful to you !), I coloured her with Promarkers, cut her out using a Nellie Snellen die and my BigShot, layered her onto a coral coloured shape I cut 'around' the Die (TY Jenni for that fab tip), the sentiment and spotty card are mounted onto same coral card and whole thing stuck onto fabulous DP from Funky Hand Papercraft Factory.  The embellishment stars I made using a freebie stamp and same DPs.

This image below shows clearer the stars that I made myself - I don't often think of stamping onto patterned paper but this worked a treat.
And finally this close up shows just how beautiful Stardust is - I have found that colouring her really is an art and she needs lots of layers of bright inks.  I have to let you allinto a secret that I have ordered the new Simply Sassy rubber stamps from Funky Kits so hopefully they will be dropping thru my letterbox tomorrow or Wed.

I am entering this into the following challenges~

Peek A Bunny

Hello bloggers! Well today in London it is pouring rain so I have not stepped outside the door!!  I have two cards to share with you but will only post one just now and will come back later once my painkillers kick in and I feel a bit dopey!!

This card is for the following challenges:~
Fab'n'funky's Tempting Texture;
Flutterby Wednesday's;
Pear Tree Designs Free For All and
Craft Your Passion Anything Goes.
I will need to publish this then come back later to link up as I am too sore right now to sit any longer.

Using the sweet Peek A Bunny from the Elisabeth Bell range at Sugar Nellie, I coloured her with PMs in the following colours ~
Ivory, Satin, Blush, Caramel, Cinnamon, Henna, Primrose, Buttercup, Canary, Apple, Meadow Green, Sandstone & Cool Grey 1;  I then distressed the edges using my scissors and mounted the image onto hessian then brown card - this was then mounted onto the stepper card.  I added the computer generated sentiment and several small green hearts, two massive butterflies (coloured with PMs) and the straw bow is mounted onto hessian along the bottom of the caed.  There is plenty texture there as the hessian and straw give a rough feel and the smothness of the card used gives a smooth feel.

I am counting down the days now til Sun then hopefully I should get a date for my op within a week or so - the neurosurgeon needs to see what changes have taken place since my last one scan(a year ago) but I tell him he doesn't need to see - I can tell him how much more pain I am in he he.

Ella with Flowers

I am getting really upset because I am not able to craft as much as I want to with my bad neck - and yes I am STILL waiting to hear when my op will be despite chasing them up twice already!! (can you guess I am not good at waiting for things to happen?) - but I have come up with htis card for several challenges ~

Using the ever so cute Ella with Flowers from Digistamp Boutique I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut out the shape using a Nellie Snellen die inking the edges with a PM.  Following Sketch Saturday's sketch, the DPs are from Funky Hand's Very Funky Blue for Boys range and darak brown pearlised paper from my stash.  The flowers I made using a Marianne Die Cut with the same papers and added a pearl gem to the centres.  The sentiment is computer generated - easy to do when you have access to a printer etc.

I am entering this into the following challenges ~
Ingredients:~
Digi image Ella with Flowers from Digistamp Boutique coloured with Promarkers ~ Ivory, Blush, Caramel, Sandstone, China Blue, Cornflower, Marsh Green, Apple & Satin;
Papers from Funky Hand's Blue for Boys range on Very Funky CD;
Pearlised dark brown paper and white card from stash;
Gems from stash.

Crafty Cardmakers DT card

This week over at Crafty Cardmakers Challenge Blog we are looking for Stitching ~ either real or faux ~ so get your tiny needles, your machines or your pens out crafters.
I opted to use real stitching but wish I hadn't now as my stitching is awful - have to say its down to the fact that the tips of both my fingers I sew with are numb due to nerve damage and this is the first time I have used them since it happened - NO I DO NOT SEW WITH MY FINGERS - I use a needles but you all understood me!!

Using the beautiful Sarah Kay stamp (from my lovely friend Kathleen - thank you), I used PMs to colour her but wanted to keep the whole card simple so only used pink & grey. The backing paper is from Bearly Mine and I have to say I have fallen in love with it - isn't it stunning? The sentiment is computer-generated using Girls Are Weird font and I stitched the end of them together in grey thread.

Ingredients:~
Sarah Kay stamp coloured with Promarkers in Rose Pink and Cool Grey 1 & 2;
DP is freebie from Bearly Mine.

The card is on its way to Scotland (where my daughter is for the week) as she has been offered and accepted a place at The University of Hertfordshire to study Nursing on Secondment from her current job in the NHS starting in January. We are so pleased for her as she currently works as a Health Care Support Worker and is so good at her job she is wasted there and needs to further her skills and knowledge by doing this course.

As well as being a DT card this one is going into the following challenges:~
Passion for Promarkers Best Friends Challenge; and
FabnFunky Keep It Clean and Simple.

Fairymoon Crafts Challenge No 33 DT card

Over at Fairymoon Crafts this week our challenge is to use the fab sketch provided but also to add a 'Halloween' theme to your card.  I have used the ever-so-cute Halloween Range of stamps from Daisy & Dandelion featuring Pumpkin & Aubergine.  The images are coloured in using Promarkers and then layered onto black then red hammered card. Inked the edges with black archival ink also! The witch's hat and broom stick were then added as an afterthought!  I am not a Halloween lover as I got a really bad scare when I was MUCH younger and it has never left me tho I do like to see the wee kids dressing up.
 The close up shows just how cute and scary he looks!    And than damned spider (another hate of mine ~ can you hear me scream when one appears when Graham is away on business? Likely you can! At the moment the house is full of conkers ~ supposed to keep them at bay?)
I am entering this into FabnFunky's Things That Go Bump In The Night Challenge too!

Chloe by Jenni

Well folks, I have caught the cold that so many people seem to have at the moment down here and I feel like s**t. I recently bought this beautiful digi image from Jenni at Cardmadfairy Creations along with another two which you will be able to see very soon. I think she is adorable in her bonny party frock (as we Scots say) looking bashful (or is that a guilty look I spy?). No matter, she is a wee honey! I coloured her with my PMs and mounted her on to black linen paper after inking the edges. Using 2 backing papers from Pink Petticoat Lola's Boudoir Range in black & white, I matted and layered again after inking; the dotty embossed paper is white linen paper put thru my BS with Papermania embossing folder; flowers are made using PP paper again and Marianne's Dies; the swirls are actually from a Sissix photo corner set I found in the sale bin at a nearby craft shop and the sentiment and pearls are both from my stash.
Those glorious folds in her dress really make me wanna dance right now but feeling so ill I can hardly keep my wee eyes open.

This card is going into the following challenges:~
Ingredients:~
Image 'Chloe' from Jenni coloured with PMs ~
Skin - Satin, Blush & Ivory,
Hair - Primrose 7 Sandstone,
Dress - Pastel Blue, Cornflower, China Blue & Duck Egg;
Marianne's Floral Dies and Sissix Photo Corners;
Papers from Pink Petticoat & Papermill Shop;
Sparkles on dress from Glitzit.

Thanks you very much for commenting and please forgive me if I do not visit you over the next few days but I think I will need a couple of days in bed (and a hot toddy or two perhaps!).
Take care all and happy crafting :)X

One Cool Cat

What on earth is happening to the weather - summer returned yeaterday and today it is raining cats and dogs here.......just have to suffer it I suppose as its the one thing we can't control (please everybody don't be offended by this statement as I am well aware of global warming etc and I do the BEST I can to help fight it but it takes more then me!!!)

This first card for today is for 3 challenges - 1 of which is new to me adn to Ribbon Girl - The Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge No1; FabnFunky 'Quote Me Happy' No 41 and Charisma Cardz Anything Goes Challenge. Now I have no idea what this shape of card is called but I used my Ultimate Pro - something I spent a lot of money on ages ago and have hardly ever used but hey presto - it came in useful.
I coloured in this cute freebie from Bugaboo and matted and layered him on orange and black card (had to ask Graham's help with measuring the front triangle - its great having a mathematician in the house), added sentiments and ribbon. I also used my paper crimper to jazz up the black under the ribbons.

I inked the edges of the image rectangle with Archival Ink to soften it up a bit.
Ingredients:~
Freebie 'Cool Cat' from Bugaboo some time ago (do pop along as she has Freebie every Friday and they are fabulous) coloured with PMs~
Honeycomb, Pumpkin & Spice;
Black & Cool Greys in 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5;
Papers from The Papermill;
Inked edges in Whispers Archival Black Ink;
Ribbons from stash;
