My Mojo is Back.....

I would like to thank you all for your kind wishes during my spell of non-crafting.  I am on the mend now thankfully and able to craft for a couple of hours each day along with light housework but no heavy lifting like shopping etc but that suits me at the mo. Graham and Lynne are being great getting shopping done and chores etc.

This card is my first challenge entry since my mojo came back and I thoroughly enjoyed making it.  I felt like I was in heaven sitting at the table with all my bits and bobs around me messy again he he!

Using the gorgeous Simply Sassy Stardust rubber stamp (which I got in a gift from a fabulous crafting buddy of mine - you know who you are.....!! and I am eternally grateful to you !), I coloured her with Promarkers, cut her out using a Nellie Snellen die and my BigShot, layered her onto a coral coloured shape I cut 'around' the Die (TY Jenni for that fab tip), the sentiment and spotty card are mounted onto same coral card and whole thing stuck onto fabulous DP from Funky Hand Papercraft Factory.  The embellishment stars I made using a freebie stamp and same DPs.

This image below shows clearer the stars that I made myself - I don't often think of stamping onto patterned paper but this worked a treat.
And finally this close up shows just how beautiful Stardust is - I have found that colouring her really is an art and she needs lots of layers of bright inks.  I have to let you allinto a secret that I have ordered the new Simply Sassy rubber stamps from Funky Kits so hopefully they will be dropping thru my letterbox tomorrow or Wed.

I am entering this into the following challenges~

Sketch Saturday - used there fab sketch again;

First Grandchild

My son is about to become an uncle for the first time and I have made this card for his inlaws, Barry and Marion, who are about to become grandparents for the first time too!  Their son's wife is due on 21st so they are all waiting in anticipation of the big event!

Using the ever so cute Pringle from Home Grown range st Sugar Nellie,  I left him quite plain stamped onto cream card as we don't know what sex baby is yet but I lightly coloured him with PMs.  Behind him I put a gorgeous doily I got from my friend Mandy, inked the edges of cream card and mounted this all onto a paper from My Craft Studio.

I am entering this into the following challenges:~
The Sugar Bowl;
Sarah Hurley New Beginnings and
Passion for Promarkers Baby Cards.

 The sentiment is CG in Jenkins font.
Ingredients:~
Pringle image from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers in Cool Grey 1, 2 ,3 & 4 and outlined in Ivory.  I left the ribbon plain as I want to colour it in either blue or pink once he/she pops into the world;
Ribbon from my stash;
Paper from My Craft Studio Professional.

Maggie with Flowers

Hello all, We have had such a glorious day here in N London but the sun just never managed to peep out properly - such a shame! I hope is stays nice for the weekend so that we can get out for a long walk. The cats have had great fun today as they haven't been able to get out over the last few days due to the inclement weather here but it is so nice to see them out running around chasing leaves etc. I hope you have all had a good day weatherwise wherever you are.

Today's card is for 2 challenges:~
Charisma Cardz No 40 Autumn Colours and
The Sugar Bowl Autumn using a Sketch & Sugar Nellie image.

Using Maggie with Flowers from their Home Grown range (coloured with PMs), and following their sketch, I used BP from Papermania's Hampstead A Warm Welcome that I won in a recent blog candy from Sue. The papers are mounted onto brown pearlised paper and then onto cream linen cardstock which I edged with Whispers Archival Inks. Maggie's dress and bows are paper-pieced using the same paper and she too is mounted onto pearlised paper which was inked using same archival ink.
I also cut some of the pearlised paper using my new Xcut edger but it got stuck inside and tore a wee bit (its so obvious but I love the card so much I am not going to change it), and it was the last of my brown pearlised!! The sentiment is computer-generated using Angelina font in brown also edged in archival ink.
Ingredients:~
Maggie with Flowers rubber stamp from Sugar Nellie range at Funky Kits coloured with Promarkers ~
Skin : Pastel Pink, Blush & Satin;
Hair : Caramel, Cinnamon & Sandstone;
Clothes : Spice & Coral;
Flowers, Spice & Marsh Green.
Papers from Papermania Hampstead A Warm Welcome Linen range & Brown Pearlised from Papermill Shop;
Edging done using Whispers Archival Ink in Caramel Delight & Chestnut;
Computer-generated sentiment using Angelina font in Brown.

Custard from Sugar Nellie

This is the first of two posts tonight - or rather two cards. I have not been up to much today - just food shopping with a bit of help from Lynne - pushing a trolley is SO hard when your arms won't move as you want them! Using Custard from Sugar Nellie, I made this easel card to send to my dear old Mam up in Scotland - I try to send her a different card each week so she must have a helluva stash of them by now. Most of them I don't write in so she can use it herself if she wants! (I do write but I put in paper, silly!).

It is for The Sugar Bowl Challenge No 39 - theme Blue.
Ingredients:~
Custard coloured with Promarkers~
Cool Gre 1, 2, 3 & 4;

Apple for grass and a touch of cornflower for flowers;
Raffia for bows.

I am not going to say too much about this card except that I thoroughly enjoyed tearing the papers distressing them!
It is being entered into the following challenges:~ Pollycraft No 51, Crafty Catz Challenge No 39 and I Love Promarkers - Distressing.
Ingredients:~
Image is Maggie with Flowers from Sugar Nellie Home Range coloured with PMs~

Caramel & Sandstone for hair and
Pastel Blue & Cornflower for her dress. I wrapped it all up in Cool Grey 1.

Tiny Tiddler from Sugar Nellie

For this card I used all the papers I got half price when Hatfield branch of Papermill Shop was closing down - some lovely lady from DC forum set up a thread otherwise I would never have know about the bargains there! Sorry too late now - it is closed!! Using Sugar Bowl sketch, Passion for PM's 'Think of a Number and Charisma Cardz 'Metal Mickey' this was the result ~
I created the cream text paper with the words of 'One two three four five, Once I caught a fish alive', tore the edges of the fab iridescent brown/green paper and added two metallic brads. The image is so sweet I think - really enjoying these now and hope to buy some more when I visit at the end of this month!
Ingredients:~
All papers from Papermill Shop;
Image Tiny Tiddler from Sugar Nellie coloured with PMs~
Satin, Blush & Dusky Pink for skin;
Sandstone, Buttercup & Ivory for hair;
Ivory, Caramel & Cinnamon for clothes;
Pumpkin & Honeycomb for her fish; and
Cool Grey 1, 3 & 4 for bucket and water.

Sugar Nellie image

I have been missing in action! Sorry folks - just not felt like crafting the last few days but mamnaged to come up with this one for Passion for Promarkers Challenge - My Favourite Thing - CATS! We took our cat down to London from the NE of Scotland in 1999 but we lost her to cancer very suddenly last year on Bonfire Night - we did get two little bu***rs in December who have taken over the house - see previous posts for pics. We love them to bits as they are so affectionate and Sweepy likes nothing better than to stick his smelly bum in our faces! Sooty is more refined and loves a cuddle when we get up or come home. Therefore you can tell I LOVE CATS! Using Braveheart from the Sugar Nellie Range, I used my good old PMs and added paw prints throughout to match my backing paper - freebie from a magazine some time ago. Sentiment was made using Girls Are Weird font on PC.
Ingredients:~
Papers freebie from Mag;
Promarkers used to colour 'Braveheart' ~
Cool Grey 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5; China Blue and Cornflower.

Manga Rock Chick for Charisma Cardz

Well I finally got around to playing with the Manga stamps I won in a recent Sugar Nellie Challenge. Following Charisma Cardz Challenge No 21 Recipe of 'Going Round In Circles', I cut 2 circles using an old fashioned compass!!, cut one in half and stuck them all together and added fab pink ribbon I also won recently from the fab Monika. On the front I used Sissix to cut very small circles to which I layered funky letters on which I used my Meltdust Platinum (also got to use my new heat gun!!). Font used is Amadeus.

You can now see my Manga - tried to make her look as mod as I can think!!

The close up is not in focus - apologies to you all for the eye strain caused by this!

Also used a fluid chalk inkpad in Pink Pastel (also from Monika) to distress the edges of the image (coloured with my PMs). Matted and layered on holographic mirriboard. All papers from stash.

This final pic shows the card CAN stand upright.

Winning Mangas from Sugar Nellie

I thought it was time I let you all see the 6 new Mangas I won in the recent Sugar Nellie Challenge - have not a clue what to do with them.....they include:
Cheerleader; Goldilocks; Goth Girl; Tiny Tiddler; Sporty and Rock Idol.

I suppose all I can do is play with them until I am happy with the results eh?

For those of you who know I had the doc today for results of various blood and urine tests she had taken before we went on hols ~ all results were excellent and show I am disease free and healthy. She does think my aches and pains may be post-op psychological ones that are causing me to feel ill - has suggested counselling so will look into it tomorrow. I am going to call my Macmillan nurse to see if she can help me too. I do feel a bit of a p**ck because I am disease free but doc did say that I have had a terminal illness - just so happens it was found in time and therefore was not terminal for me.

I am off to do some more crafting as Graham is away tonight in Rugby so I have the house and kittens to myslef - Lynne is out with her bf.
TFL and love to you all XXX
