Jenni's Birdie

This is my second post fro tonigh tso pls scroll down to see anothe card.

This particular card has been made using Jenni's fabulous new Birdie image.

I paper-pieced the image using a freebie paper from somewhere and then stamped swirls and flowers on the body of the bird to compliment the paper.  The brown main DP is a fab brown coloured freebie from Bearly Mine (sorry it looks a dire green colour in the pic - think the light in the kitchen was all wrong for it).  The stunning ribbon is from The Works and it is such a lovely colour of mocha it matched perfectly.  The buttons are pink too even tho they look an awful peach colour ~ I really want to get into my craft room very soon so that I can set up a 'photo' area where the light will be ideal.

This is my first twisted easel but I am not entirely sure I like the 'shape' so think I will stick to normal easel cards from now on.

I am entering this into the following challenges:~

Luv A Latte

This is my second post for today - I cannot sit for long cos of my neck. And some days are particularly bad for me so my posts may be sporadic for a while longer.  I had my pre-op assessment on Thursday at The Royal Free In Hampstead, N London and all is well - I am very impressed because they have issued me with 4 large wet cloths which I have to use after two showers prior to my admission (they are testing them to try to eradicate MRSA and have a very good record so far).  I still haev to get another MRI scan as my last one was over a year ago and my condition has worsened since then - obviouslyt they need to see what internal changes have taken place.  I am very hopeful that this op will get rid of some if not all my pain.  Some folk are telling me I am mad to have it after having by big cancer op in 2009 but it is my last resort as i have tried umpteen alternative therapies, physio, chiropractor, osteopath etc etc.  Even had acupuncture!

Anyways I will continue cardmaking and blogging until my op so here is my second card for today ~

This one is for Natalie (our niece) - she loves visiting Starbucks coffee bar with her student friends so I think this is perfect.  Using fabulous papers from Funky Hand's Funky Daze CD, I distrtessed the edges for a more natural look.  The image is one of Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy range - Luv A Latte - I just adore these as they are not too cutesy but just so human looking if you know what I mean.  I used a Nellie Snellen to cut out the frame then inked with Distress Ink in Tattered Rose; matted & Layered onto gold mirri card and brown card which I ran thru my Bigshot using a Papermania Swiss Dot folder.  The flowers were made using a Marianne Designs Die again put thru my Bigshot, added those dotty flowers things (what are they called - the things on the white stems?)  and made a CG sentiment using various fonts.  I am sure she will love it as much as I do.
This one is going into the following challenges:~

Come on over to Fairymoon Crafts Challenge!

This week at Fairymoon we are asked to follow a fabulous sketch and are sponsored by Fairymoon Crafts.
I made this card for my daring Mam for Christmas - I wanted something traditional but with a modern twist so hope I achieved this.
Following the sketch, I used fabulous freebie papers from Bearly Mine and resized them in My Craft Studio (also simple to do in Word etc) and matted them onto matt gold card.  The reindeer is actually a free stamp from Crafts Beautiful magazine which I stamped and embossed with Brass Meltdust (not easy to see in pic but reakly stunning looking).  The ribbon and gems are from my stash. The font is computer generated using Carolinga Font.
