Graham and I are delighted to announce the birth of our first grandchild -
A beautiful baby son for Lynne and Michael. Kai is currently in SCIBU as Lynne had a urine infection but he is going back up to be with his Mummy very shortly. Will have further Antibiotics over next 48hrs but Paeds are sure he will be ok.
We are all exhausted and I have to say to you all potential Granny's out there - if you are asked to be a Birthing Partner any time in the future ACCEPT THE INVITATION. It is the most life changing experience I have ever had - seeing your daughter in excruciating pain yet knowing that it is for a fabulous cause - the birth of the next generation of your own family. The love is so bl##dy intense immediately, it hurts. Lynne had a good labour - regular strong pains controlled with gas and air for 10hrs then pushing for just over an hour. So very proud of her!!!
I hope to post pics soon but have to ask Mummy and Daddy's permission first.
Apologies if I am not blogging much over the next 16 years ha ha.
Kai Alexander born at 1318hrs on 3rd May 2012 weighing 7lbs 1oz.
