And yes it is a gorgeous day here in Enfield.
This is my second post of today so please scroll down to see my DT card for the new Fab'n'Funky Challenge.
I had both Neil (son) and Lynne (daughter) for lunch - seems strange with neither of them at home now tho Neil has been away for some time now. Neil has just passed his final Sgt exam with Police Force and he is so chuffed - so am I of course!! Just to go in front of the Board now fro final interview and hey presto - Sgt instead of Acting Sgt and PC. Happy times ahead for my family I think with new babe coming soon and Neil hopefully getting his promotion at work.
I had a bit of a downer last night as I found out that the Craft Fair (my 1st) I had reserved months ago has been booked up without me knowing - hard to understand but the email confirming dates and asking for payment etc went to the wrong email address and I am now too late to get the promised stall. I had made loads of cards etc for selling and was so excited about this with it being my first boo hoo. Oh well I say its their loss in the end - I have seen cards for sale at other events and think my gawd how can they sell that 'disaster' of a card? I know my work isn't fabulous but at least I put an effort in with my cards and stationery. Do others feel the same as me? I detest preprinted decoupage and toppers etc so much they turn my stomach as do peel offs - yuk!
Rant over for now my friends - here is my wee card for this afternoon ~
Ingredients:~
Books and Bedhead digi image from Saturated Canary;
Promarkers:~ Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink, Ivory, Coral, Spice, Honeycomb, Pumpkin, Pastel Yellow, Buttercup, Moss, Pear Green & Marsh Green + Light Fawn Flexmarker;

It's good to rant Sheila now and again. I do not do decoupage, bought toppers or peel offs at all. Everything done from scratch like yourself. I have seen cards for sale in various places, the card very thin, just peel offs and a topper, sometimes not even straight and they wanted about £3.50 for it - "on yer bike lass". You should be proud of your work, its fab. So sorry you missed out on your stall - hopefully another will come along soon. xx
ReplyDeleteHello again Sheila so sorry to hear about the stall after all your hard work. Love the card the image is just perfect with these yummy papers! Chanelle xxx

ReplyDeleteLovely card, shame about the craft fair....
ReplyDeleteHurrah, another ranter on the loose! You should check out my blog if you want to see agood rant!! I hate peel offs now and pre-printed decoupage too, but funny how we all started there isn't it and how quickly we learn new things. I see cards on our challenge blog and think yee-Gods, how on earth have you got the nerve to put that into a challenge!! But I suppose it takes all sorts and like you say, if you take pride in your own work then it doesn't matter what others do - as the old saying goes - you can't polish a turd!! Quality stands out a mile, even using tiny thumbnails and that's why i am here, because I love Saturated Canary and I think your card is delightful. Thank you for joining us over at I ♥ ProMarkers this week and Good Luck to your son and to you too!
ReplyDeleteSee you again soon
