Hello again my friends - another chilly day here in Enfield.

Today's card is a wee simple one to send to my Mam with her weekly letter - I love sending and getting letters in the post so boo hoo to emails etc!! But to those of you who do email me I appreciate them too - just that I am a traditionalist.

Oh my giddy aunt - it is absolutely blooming freezing here today. Before I show you today's card I have some good news for you all - Lynne and Michael have finally found a flat and signed the lease etc at the weekend so we have spent the weekend getting it ready for them by cleaning, gathering furniture etc. They are moving in on Thursday so it will be a massive wrench for me to see my 'baby' leaving home finally at the age of almost 27 years!! We are just hoping it all works out for them both with the flat and the baby due in 8 weeks. Its not the ideal start to a 'family' but hey ho that is the way they have chosen to do it so we have to accept it and support them. It is a 10 min drive away and about 20 mins on bus so far enough away but close enough for Granny (me) to visit regularly ha ha.

Big empty nest approaching very rapidly - yikes! The excitement of the baby will lessen that awful feeling for me hopefully - now so bad for Graham as he is Lynne's stepdad but they are very close so expect to have to comfort him too at some point :(

Onto today's card which I made in my freezing craft room - the way the wind is blowing means despite the heating being on it is still cold up here as the window sticks away out in a triangle. Brrrrr.....

I made a card using Jenni's Lily digi image available here. I printed 6 and decoupaged 3 to make them look more 3D and am very pleased with the result.

I cut 4 circles the same size and applied ink on the edges.

I also added pearl gems to the image.

And finally I added doodles all around the edge of the card.

Commissioned Mothers Day

God afternoon folks and we have had a gorgeous day here in North London. I got loads of washing done, been to cut my hair coloured and cut and now waiting patiently for Lynne and Graham to come home so I can start dinner - having a Mexican tonight yum yum!!

First of all tho can I say a mahussive get well to Nic (Coops) who is poorly today!!

My card is for my neighbour whose Mam lives in Ireland she keep me hard at work as she sends loads of card home there.

I used a stunning digi image from Pink Petticoat and added Funky Hand papers - I just love the versatility of Pink Petticoat and Funky Hand and hope you do too. I coloured the image with PMs.

Good morning happy crafters - I suppose you have come back to read my exciting news........well...........shall I tell you or not?..........................I HAVE to tell you as I am nearly wetting myself with excitement at being selected for the fab and funky Fab'n'Funky Design Team!! My card was made for Lynne, my pregnant daughter, who passed her 1st year Nursing Exams with flying colours despite having the most horrific time with morning sickness, headaches and generally feeling cr##. Thankfully she is now feeling much better and eagerly awaiting the birth as is Granny-in-waiting here!! Baby will mean taking a year out but it will be worth it to enjoy the baby while it is small as that smallness is so short.

I have used Mo Manning's A Big Whoop and coloured her with Promarkers and my fine nibs (what did we do before they were invented?)....

Hope you are all having a good weekend so far. The weather here is glorious again today tho I have yet to step outside the house - I have had a terrible night time cough for weeks now and all the coughing has made all my muscles in my chest and back ache, and to top it all today my incisional hernia is giving me pain too. You nurses and medics out there will know what I am harping on about - they are not sure if it is epigastric or incisional but because its not bothering me too much are leaving it well alone for now.

My card for today I am not entirely happy with - dunno why - just something not quite right about it.

Butterflies for Mam

Isn't it strange how I HATE the commercialism of special days like Xmas, Mothers Day etc but I love making special cards for those days? I suppose in reality what I actually hate is the fact that many people don't appreciate the people in their lives and they should. Life is too short for them to be appreciated only on special days - I think I am having a reflective day as I have been thinking about my Dad after reading a buddy's blog yesterday and how I can't send him one of my cards - shame he never saw any of them as I didn't make cards back in 2000. He would have said what a waste of money those pens are - did you know the £shop has them for 10 for £!?!! PMs I am talking about here my friends not felt tip pens as he would have seen them.....

On a more positive note, my card for today is made using 3 colours I would never have imagined could work but hey they do I think. Baby Blue, Orangesicle and Basil - well my take on them I am afraid. Hard to read my sentiment on first pic but you get the jist...

This next pic is a close up of this older Saturated Canary rubber stamp I bought AGES ago from Funky Kits when they were originally released.

And finally the completed card - looking at it now on the screen the colours don't really match but in real life they look fab so apologies fro poor quality of pic.

Well I have been absent fro a very good reason - well not a good reason but a valid one. Some bas#### had spent thousands of pounds on our credit card - okay I hear you say but the bank will sort it out. Yes BUT whoever did this dirty also changed the address with the Bank. The whole matter has been passed to the Fraud Squad at the Bank but this has knocked us for 6 as nobody can tell us how this was done and what other info this fraudster has on us. We are ultra careful with shredding documents, have up to date internet security and only buy from reputable websites so it is a case of wait and see. So currently we have no access to our Credit card (damn wanted to spend some readies today!!) and limited access to out current account.

Graham and I have been shaken by this horrid episode and have both been sick with worry and not sleeping since the weekend hence my absence from Blogland and crafting. He was supposed to be in Newcastle on business yesterday and today but had to stay at home and make loads of phone calls to various people. Oh I long for the days when the only way you could access your money was by going into the bank yourself!!

I have a card to share with you guys today - made it on Saturday before all this was flagged up to us ~

I used on my new Saturated Canary digis here and coloured her with my PMs - dunno where I am getting this red hair fetish from but I am loving it. Think the vibrancy cheers me up :)

Looking at various blogs I can see that loads of you have bought Krista's new digis and I have chosen one of my newbies for this wee card ~ I bought Books and Bedhead, Washday & Whispy and have to say they are even prettier in the flesh so to speak.

This circular card shape I made using a Sissix Framelit and then cut several smaller shapes with the smaller dies. I coloured the digi with my PMs & FMs then mounted her 3D like with glue, added ribbon and a CG sentiment.

Good morning to you all - it is a lovely mild day here in N London so fingers crossed it stays dry all day as I have just hung all the bedding on the line .......

Over at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days this time, Jenni asked us no to be Square so I went for something completely different using her gorgeous 3 Flying Birds - I am assuming you all remember Hilda Ogden of Corrie Street ....well I always admired her flying ducks so................I printed off 3 images of different sizes and coloured them with my PMs and stuck them to my craft room wall and hey presto...here they are.....

Now that I see them here 'in print' they look rather uninspiring besides the other DT work but I love em!! Do pop along and join in the fun.

Some of you may already know but I WON SATURATED CANARY's recent challenge and was delighted to choose Lolita and Thank You as my fabbie prize - also have you seen Krista's delicious new digis here? Needless to say they have crept into my basket overnight - how strange to jump in all by themselves he he!!

Also I have to tell you that FINALLY I made the Top 5 at Passion for Promarkers - thanks so much girls and I will display my badge with much pride.

Anyhow, I coloured her with my PMs and immediately fell head over heels in love - reminds me of myself about 30 years ago (gawd I am showing my age here my friends) I spent my time shoeless with long curly hair and skirts down to the ground - mmmmm lovely time I had.

And I finally found the dies I bought months ago with leaves and flowers - had a blond moment when I unpacked them and put them somewhere 'safe'.

Now you may think the colours I have chosen are a bit strange but don't they work a treat - orange and teal? Perfect so another pair of colours to play with again very soon....

I wanted to add texture (for a challenge below) so have taken a pic of this CoOrdinations card I put thru my Big Shot using a gorgeous folder (think its Papermania but not 100% sure guys).

Well I visited Teddy Towers and couldn't resist some new digis - oops they simply slipped into my basket and I couldn't figure out how to take them out again - TBH I simply adore them all and found it so hard to just choose a few - 4 to be exact :)

Night Night Teddy Bo

This is my second post for today - too snowy to venture out and HW up to date so what better way to spend a snowy Sunday than making cards?

I treated myself to some new Teddy Bo digi images and here is the first card I have created just in time for the Challenge over at Teddy Towers!

I have fallen head over heals in love with these gorgeous characters and I want them all right now!! I coloured this hunk with my Prismas and kept the card quite simple. The DPs are from my stash - promised not to buy any more papers til I used up my stash BUT that will not stop me printing off loads from the umpteen CDs I have he he!!

I am entering this into the current challenge over at Teddy Bo and hope I am on time for this one - keep missing the deadlines stupid old woman that I am :(

Using Krista's fab freebie

Many of you are lovers of Saturated Canary images and I managed to get this fab freebie with Krista's newsletter last week - I know some of you had problems getting it but mine came thru ok -

I coloured her with my Prismas after viewing a fab tutorial (details in a prev post) and I have to say that my colouring has improved now (GAWD My head is getting too big for my neck now!) Just need to get a rubber ordered for any more wee mistakes I make he he!

The DP is from a cheap pack I bought somewhere around the SE. I am entering this into Willow Sketchie's Sketch Challenge (have to try to get back into the groove of entering challenges - not been having much inclination since Xmas - family problems been getting in the way - but hopefully after my win over at Saturated Canary this will spur me on now.....

Over at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days this fortnight Jenni is getting us into the LOVE mode with the theme of Hearts - its that time of year folks when we are all thinking of love and spending loads of money on that special person - me? well no I am a firm believer in treating that special person (Graham in my case) each and every day and NO I am not a big softy - I simply feel that all these 'special' days are just a commercial rip off :(

I am one day late with this card posting so apologies to all who were looking for this yesterday and a huge welcome to my new followers too!! HULLO GUYS :)

The winner this time around will get 3 digi images from the fabulous Crafty Sentiments Designs -

so do come and play along as we all have something with hearts on don't we?

I wanted to do something completely new to me so used my new Serif software here - I imported Jenni's fab digi image and printed directly onto a 5in square card. I added a sentiment using the same package and then coloured the fab hearts with my Prisma pencils. The lines around the outer edge are simply drawn with a Fineliner pen. I have to say I am rather pleased with the result and hope you like it too.

I don't have time at the mo to link any challenges but will come back later to do this.

Sharing a pic of our tart with you all.....

Many of you know we have two young cats and they are very hard to photograph but I finally managed to get this comical pic of Sweep last night - we call him a tart when he lies like this and he does it all the time - showing off his privates (that he doesn't have any more in any case!!) he he!

The second pic is of Sooty and Sweep and yea I cannot get a pic of them nicely sitting together - here they are playing with the camera lens cap and a pen!!

We adopted them as a pair of brothers in Nov 09 after our previous cat developed an inoperable growth on her leg - we sadly put her to sleep on 5th Nov 2009 and got these two rogues in the December. They rule the house of course but doesn't every cat eh?

Well here we are and another week of 2012 has flown past...I just don't know where my time goes these days. Lynne and I had a few days up in Scotland with my Mam last weekend and a fab time was had by all. No craft shops visited unfortunately tho - just didn't have the time and it was very cold and wet while we were there.

We are busy trying to take all the bathroom tiles off - not done them since we moved in 12 years ago - and to say we are sick fed up of them already is putting it mildly - they seem to be cemented on not just grouted:( and it is taking us forever. And now this morning I feel fluey again - don't know if my immune system is down at the mo but been feeling pretty ill for some time now - just can't put my finger on it but seeing my GP on 14th Fen for something else so will get her to check my bloods etc.

Onto my card for today - I am still loving Krista's digis - which I have made using Janessa and coloured her with my Prismas. Not quite got the hang of them yet but getting there following this fabulous tutorial for colouring hair and skin.

I haven't been posting and commenting as my blogger has been playing up a lot this last couple of weeks - bah humbug and I have been missing you all lots - able to look but not much else :( But one of my team mates over at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days has found a link which is supposed to fix this so fingers crossed my friends.

Charlie's First Birthday!

Hello bloggers and welcome to my new followers! Lovely to see you here and do leave a comment so I can hop over to yours too...

We are all going to Charlie's First Birthday party on Sunday - he is my son's nephew on his wife's side and he is such a gorgeous friendly wee soul!

Here are the cards I have made for him -

This one is using a fabulous Fifi Giraffe digi from SJ Musings - come coloured or outline - so I used my good old PMs to colour. Isn't he just adorable? DPS are all from Pink Petticoat.

The second one is using Arthur from Sugar Nellie at Funky Kits. Again I think he is so sweet - am falling in love with ALL bears at the mo as just been browsing on Teddy Bo for some more of those! Can my purse take the strain - why of course!!

I am not entering these into any challenges - finding that looking for them and linking up etc is taking up far too much of my time that could be better used elsewhere - shopping, sleeping, reading, crafting, making baby clothes etc etc. I know my choice will mean fewer visitors to my blog but hey ho!!
My daughter has her first midwife appt tomorrow so am going along with her for moral and motherly support. Can't believe how things have changed so drastically since I had my two nearly 30 years ago yuk!! I do feel old now!! Perhaps that is only happening in London of course - not sure.

Will keep you guys updated on her pregnancy now that she is keeping a bit better. Many thanks for your support so far for her. Much appreciated :)

New Challenge at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days + DT call

Good morning fellow crafters....over at Cardmadfairys Digi Days today Jenni has set us a new challenge so say 'Thank You'. If you join in you could be in with a chance to win some of Jenni's fabulous digi images so do come along and play......

I have used one of her Stylised Flowers for my DT card but her DT have used several of her other images so go check them out too please...I coloured them with my PMs and matted and layered onto crisp white card edged in blue then used a Die to cut that fab shape. The sentiment is CGd.

We are sad to announce that we are losing one of our original dt members, Carol Ann has been with us from the beginning and we are very sorry to be losing her but wish her much luck in setting up her own new business this year. Another member is taking a little bit of a back seat at the moment due to family pressures, so we are looking for a couple of new dt members to boost our numbers. Hello my friends,

It seems like yonks since I posted on here and IT IS!! I don't know what happened with time for me around Xmas tho my Mam was down and I feel I have to spend time with her and ignore my constant mad desire to craft while she is here - she knows how keen I am on making my cards but I do feel I have to give her the time she deserves.

A new year....new challenges........a new grandchild due at the end of April............son passed his Sgt's exam and moving to Traffic Division soon...............what more could I ask for apart from good health throughout 2012.

..........today's one is for Mam for her Birthday on 13th. Wish I could go up and spend it with her but the weather is SO dodgy at the moment - our plum tree is no more - lying at 45degrees this am so will have to get it down properly when Graham comes in later. Hope its not been too rough for you wherever you are...I recently won a complete set of Red Gingham Designs Clear Stamps from Little Claire and they are such fun to colour - more to come I am sure once I get my mojo back properly. Exciting News & New Twin Boys and

My exciting news.............................some of you already know this but I had to kind of keep my mouth shut til now....but our daughter is 20 weeks pregnant!!!!! I AM GOING TO BE A GRANNY!!!! She has had a very rough and difficult time up til now (emotionally and physically poor girl) but is thankfully feeling a lot better. She was hospitalised twice due to sickness and they were worried it was ectopic at the very start. Lynne had her 20 week scan this week and tho baby played up and she has to go back again on Monday for them to see the head fully, everything is perfect. We are all delighted for her and Michael and they are going to start looking for a flat in the New Year. Her nursing studies will be put on hold for a year even tho she is on secondment from work so that is good news too. I will try to upload a scan pic on Monday so that you can all see my gorgeous grandchild!!

Neil (our son) has a pair of friends who are both in the same profession (Police Force) and they had twin boys yesterday. Both very healthy weights and all doing well.

But here is the card I made for Neil...

I have finally completed my Christmas card orders and done our family ones as well - in between having the flu and ending up with a persistent night time cough, I have achieved what I set out to do! Whew!

I am sick of the sight of bl##dy Christmas cards now but have two birthday orders to get done - one for 25th Dec and another for 13 Jan so no rest for the wicked eh?

Hello fellow bloggers.....

Well I have been AWOL again but have a very valid reason this time - I have had a bout of flu - knocked me for six and I still don't feel 100% but gotta get up and get some Christmassy things done inside the house - like making cards etc....... haven't been out of the house since Saturday but not sure I am well enough to venture far today. Perhaps I will leave it til 2moro.

I have managed to get a tag made fro our fab challenge over at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days - this time we are sponsored by the fabulous A Day For Daisies - wow if you not seen their images you gotta go have a look. Tammy very kindly gave the DT some images to play with and they are such fun to colour - very different but stunning. The winner of this challenge will receive a $12 gift card (equates to 3 images) to spend on any images from their beautiful site.

Here is my tag - please be aware I had to keep it simple due to the fact that my brain and body refused to function properly this week but I am rather pleased with the result.

I coloured the stunning image with my Prisma pencils and added some white glitter for snow (not seen in this pic sorry).

Hello guys,

I won't be able to catch up with you all but am hoping to get some commenting done later on today.

I don't know what went wrong with Blogger while I was away sunning myself but my 2 scheduled posts have disappeared completely from my Blogger!! Hoping to find them somewhere and get them up ASAP as one is my DT card for Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Winterland Challenge currently running!!

Should be back tomorrow with a card or two - got loads to make for Christmas orders and for ourselves -ooops seem to be way behind like lots of you are too !!

My first Teddy Bo card

This is my second post for today so pls scroll down to see a wee card I made earlier.....I have been quietly admiring these fabulous wee bears from afar fro some months now so.....because I have been feeling a bit off but now feel better I decided that today was the day to get some ordered ...well did I forget how many I needed/wanted ....no I was very good and only ordered 3 digis today. BUT I have so enjoyed colouring this fab couple that I know I will be going back very soon for some more.

I coloured this image with my PMs, then matted and layered onto navy card and silver mirri. The DP is from last year's purchase for Christmas cards never used!!

The sentiment is computer generated using a fab new font I found online - if you would like details pls email me and I will provide.

I am going to be very brave and enter this into The Bo Bunny Challenge that is running right now - Christmas but red and green must not be seen!! I do hope the DT like my first attempt....thanks so much for looking :)

Milly singing Carols

I am back - been feeling lot more positive the last couple of days - looking forward to a lovely week in the sun with Graham away from the stresses of living in London. We are off to Fuertaventura as we spent a fabulous week there last year and thoroughly enjoyed the weather - hot and sunny but very windy too. Off to the north of the island this time tho to see the sand dunes so will post some pics once we are back.

We don't go til Saturday so I will be back here before then.....but in the meantime here is a wee card I have made for the Digistamp Boutique November Challenge.........

I have coloured Milly Singing Carols that I won in a recent competition - she is adorable and I can almost here her voice singing away.....he he.....

The DP is from Pink Petticoat and the fabulous silver thingy along the top I got from a very special friend - thanks so much - knew it would look fab on the right card! I think my mojo is still on holiday but at least I am making cards now......plain and simple Christmas cards from us this year.

Been a bad blogger

Hello again people!! Well I am back - don't know what is the matter with me at the mo but I just cannot get my head out of the sand - seem to be stuck in a rut in crafting and home life. Mojo has gone fro a very long walk last couple of weeks.....I think it is very simply because there is a lot going on at home (you will all find out eventually I reckon) and I DETEST the festive season. Some of you may already know that I left an awful marriage in 1996 and I have lots of very bad memories that come back and haunt me at this time of year each and every year despite having counselling many years ago to try to combat this problem. Trying as hard as I do to eliminate the bad thoughts, they just keep coming back and biting my bum therefore spoiling my Christmas every year. I KNOW that I should have the strength to stop them coming but it is very hard despite being in a deliriously happy marriage now with my first love!!

Anyway enough of my sadness, tho this card is for a very sad day - the 11th year since losing my darling Dad. I can't spend the day with Mam so instead sent her this card to let her know that not only are we thinking od Dad on 16th but also of her. Hope you like it as much as I do.....

Texture Challenge at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days!

Over at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days this time, Jenni has set the Texture Challenge - its up to you how you interpret this but as ling as you use texture of some kind - embossing, ribbon, buttons, metal, the choice is yours. You could win 5 of Jenni's fabulous digis and if you happen to use one of her digis to take part and you win, you will get another 5 too!! How cool is that?

I have used Jenni's Just Elfin' Around for this one and I think he has come out a treat - fun, colourful and Christmassy!!

For texture, I embossed the green CoOrds card with my BS and a Papermania folder; added a cotton wool bobble to hit fab hat.......

....added ribbon and three fab rubbery gems I won somewhere ages ago.

Gosh I go AWOL for days then appear twice in one day........and BRRRRRRRR its cold outside too :(

Graham has been busy tidying up the garden and Lynne has been baking muffins all afternoon so I thought I may as well make the most of MY free time.

This wee card is once again using Rosie from Funky Kits (love her to bits I do)..........

I used my Flexmarkers for this one along with normal PMs for her hair.

The DPs are I think My Minds Eye and I used my fab Prisma Chisel Tip pens to add stitching all around my patchwork. Flowers, gems and ribbon from stash once again.

Thinking of You

Hello my friends,

First of all can I thank you all for your kind words - I am feeling like I have a bad cold coming on but it just won't surface properly - think if it did I would feel a lot better in myself too. I do feel a bit more positive today so that's good.

My card for today is made using a gorgeous image I received in a RAK some time ago. I have used my Prisma Pencils (getting the hang of them now I think) - THANK YOU to Graham for getting me the full set for my recent Birthday!

The card has been made for a very special lady who is going into hospital on Tuesday for a Mastectomy so we are keeping everything crossed for her and hoping she has a speedy recovery.

I LOVE the effect you can get with the Prismas of light and shade so easily so if you not tried them you must get a small set as I am aware that we all like different colouring mediums! It is thanks to Kerry (Pickle) and Kathleen (A Perfect Creation) that I have ended up with them.

I have used DPs from Funky Hand, ribbons and gems from my stash and the sentiment is from a set of gorgeous Clear Magic Stamps from Woodware I bought when we were in Brecon.

The Beauty You Bring to the World

I am still not being a very good blogger friend to many - just feeling a bit 'off' at the moment. Lots of personal things going on that are accumulating and making me feel a bit low at times.

My card for today I made using the gorgeous Rosie from Sugar Nellie available from Funky Kits.
First I want to share this flower with you - made it using a really cheap lace I found somewhere or other and all I did was cut a circle of card, add some DST then wound the lace around in a spiral to form the flower, added a gem and hey presto.

Then thought I would tease you with a close up of Rosie - she is such fun to colour - used my Flexmarkers here and they worked a treat.

The scalloped card I got from our local The Range - love the look of them but hard to locate here in Enfield. The DP is a freebie from Milton pad; matted onto grey cardstock; gingham is from Pink Petticoat (loving ALL Liz's papers); Gems are from my stash and the sentiments says.......

Star of Wonder

Hello my blogging friends,

Not been around much last few days so apologies right now!

I have started making my Christmas cards - have done Lynne's first out of the way using a gorgeous clear stamp called Star of Wonder I won in a blog giveaway from Little Claire's Designs.

I used lavender dotty paper from Pink Petticoat and a freebie sentiment stamp with some layering on purple textured card and hey presto a set of gorgeous cards :~

Aren't they just adorable? I wanted to keep the design simple to show the full image to its best and I think I have achieved that here....I coloured the image with my Prisma pencils and PMs.

I am not a lover of the commercial side of Christmas and I tend to keep things simple so do come back to see more simple cards from me over the next few days.

Saturated Canary's Penny

My second card today is made using the stunning digi image 'Penny' from Saturated Canary - doesn't Krista have such a 'wild mind' creating all these fabulous images for us all to use? I find her designs are just perfect for any age and any project as they can be resized, flipped, coloured my any medium and are just SO gorgeous.

This first pic show how I eventually managed to tackle and succeed at my Marianne Designs Rose die!! Not perfect but better than earlier attempts so thank to all those who gave tips.....

I love the innocence of this image - what is she thinking, what is she hiding. what has she just done? Mmmmmmmm.

Oliver's New Wheels

I have two cards to share today - a boy one and a girl one. The girls one will be on the next post so do come back as she is a tad special.

First of all here is the boys one - now I don't have many boy images but recently bought this wee one from Funky Kits - please meet Oliver on his New Wheels....

He is a wee smasher I think....coloured with PMs and matted and layered onto Navy and Pale Blue CoOrdinations card. To get the checked effect below I simply used my embossing tool and my Guillotine to create the checks then sanded them all down - quite effective I think. The sentiment I made on the PC using shapes in Word 2010 (so much stuff on there that can be used in Cardmaking).

The finished card has papers from Pink Petticoat.

SO sorry for not being around yesterday - I was attending a Business Set Up Seminar on Marketing - yea sounds boring and while it was (I already hold a NC in Business) at times I made a few contacts - a wedding photographer, a website designer, and a lovely lady who informed me of local craft fairs I knew nothing about!! I also learned that I need to get on FB and set up a Business Page (I hate FB but suppose if it is for my benefit then it may be ok).

Some of you may already know I am trying to set up a small 'from home' business selling my cards and Wedding Stationery (still working on my range so not revealed any yet). I am not really taking any risks financially as the Stationery will only be made to order and my cards sell anyway so fingers crossed I get some more orders.

Anyway, back to today and here is my card made using the ever so cute Rosie from Sugar Nellie Home Grown range at Funky Kits.

I used my NEW PRISMAS to colour but am still not sure of I am using them correctly - my work is nowhere near as good as others who use these fab pencils (if you need to know where to get them in the UK please contact me as I have a fab supplier).

I followed the current sketch at Sketch Saturday to create this card and have to say I love it - the sketch that is so another one added to my ever increasing list of great sketches.

Friendship isn't a big thing.......

....................it's a million little things. I hope you will agree with me on this statement. I got some fabulous birthday cards from my buddies so thank you all very much. I also got some fabulous goodies with Birthday money - some Krista Smith digis and a couple of SN rubber stamps; Graham bought me the whole set of Prisma pencils from Tony (the Prisma Man); Lynne and Michael got me some beautiful flowers, Body Shop Toiletries, Matt Cardle CD, kiddy sweets which I love and lovely cosy socks to wear with my new boots; and Neil and Michele gave me a very extravagant M & S voucher to buy what I needed or wanted so went out yesterday and bought a beautiful long jumper to keep my bum warm and 2 long sleeved tops. SO I have been well and truly spoilt again.

My card for today is made using one of my new digis - Poppy- took me ages to trawl thru them all to choose 4 out of them all so no doubt will be going back there again very soon as Krista adds to them regularly.

CAS Hippy Chick....what a challenge

Well what a shock I got when I looked at The Sugar Bowl Challenge today - CAS!!!!????!!! How can I make Simply Sassy clean and simple - well I had to have a go at this and hey presto I did it!! I was SO tempted to use one of my new Krista digis but then suddenly realised that they do not count as they 're NOT SN images - doh!! Must remember that again for the future - so used to associating her with SN stamps I suppose.

Of all the Simply Sassy's I think I like this one the best - reminds me of myself when I was in my late teens - was a bit of a hippy myself but was never as pretty as she is I have to add.....

This is the first of two posts for today so do come back later to see another card from me.

Some of you know its my Birthday tomorrow and a very strange package arrived for Graham - I am not sure what it is and I can't shake it anymore than I have done so I suppose I will need to wait til morning to see what it contains - my wish list was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long ha ha!!

My first card is for the following challenges:~

Ruby's Rainbow Cute and Cuddly.

Using a fab clear stamp from Mo Manning, I used my PMs to colour then matted and layered, distressing as I went along. As you can see I am still loving the plasterer's scrim I bought in B&Q - it is so cheap and you can do anything with it.

I just love the cheeky look on her face and the expression on the dog's face is one of fear, surprise or shock I am not sure.

Here is the finished card - I love how it has come out even tho I had to take the pic of it lying down as Sooty wouldn't leave it standing up - little bu##er that he is - I know we all love our cats and I also know that lots of crafter have problems with them lying on their work - ours both like to lie on my table as I am trying to colour or stick so we have lots of fun ha ha!!

Brrrr are you as cold as I am today? I have been shivering all day and have just had to put the heating on.....I know its nearly November but surely it shouldn't be this cold? There is lots of quiet whispers around the house and strange packages arriving so hopefully my wishlist will be completed on Friday he he!!

Well another week nearer the end of this year - crumbs where has it gone my friends?

It was a gorgeous morning here but has turned wild - dull and very windy but I managed to get Lynne's winter jumpers washed and dried on the line outside so they are lovely and soft. Sheets tomorrow perhaps!!

My card for today is made using the ever so cute Flying Frog clear stamp from Nellie Snellen - these are very similar to the new ones from Sugar Nellie aren't they?

A wee peak for you of the flowers and sentiment.....

..and then we have the gorgeous fairy - doesn't she look like a cheeky wee imp?.......

I did something new for this borrowing the idea from Liz at Pink Petticoat - I printed the paper directly onto the card blank and it came out a treat!! Even printed on the back which makes it look even better than a plain white back.

How fast is this year passing - we are now nearing the end of October - yikes!

Another new challenge from Jenni at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days and this time we are looking for Spots and Stripes ~ we are sponsored this time by the fabulous Whimsy Stamps ~

For this challenge I stayed away from the fabulous Christmas images and used one of Jenni's 'older' digis - the gorgeous Inspire available here.

First of all a sneak peak at the image itself - I coloured the background with Flexmarkers and then added red for the gorgeous poppies......

A wee update on my Ovarian Cancer health scare 2 years ago - I had my first follow up appointment at our local hospital this morning and am pleased to tell you that ALL IS WELL down there hhmmm!! I don't have much confidence in the gynae department at the hospital as they nearly missed the cancer to start with because they 'lost' my A & E notes...so I was pleasantly surprised to fins I was seen by a competent doctor who made me feel at ease straight away - I don't know if I ever relayed the full story on here but I had to contact PALS to deal with it in the end - it was such a botch!! Never mind, all behind me now and racing on with life thankfully. Prayers to all those who are affected by Cancer in whichever form it has grabbed you.

My card for today is this wee one featuring a lovely wee mouse digging into a fabulous cuppa and an even more gorgeous cupcake from Mo Manning.

Is he not simply adorable - however much I detest mice I have to say I love this one.......

I decided to try something 3D today and got this fabulous template here - do go along and visit as Inger has some stunning work on her blog and fabulous freebies too!!

I used papers from Pink Petticoat and some others form my stash - this is simply a prototype as it is nowhere near good enough to enter into any challenges but I am quite pleased with the result so keep an eye out for more of these birdhouses in the near future.

I have finally managed to install the printer onto the new Desktop so I am a very happy Bunny now that ALL my crafty goodies are installed into the wee front room upstairs and I can craft away out of everyone's way........

Love Letters Just for You.....

I have had a very full crafty day today - this is my 3rd post - cannot think where all the ideas are coming from.

This wee one is using the fabulous Love Letters stamp from Funky Kits - hoping to pay them a visit when I am up in Elgin next - which hopefully will be sometime this month to pay my old Mam a long-awaited visit. I just adore the shop and could spend a week in there quite happily!!

I have used up some more of my paper stash here along with some brand new ones from Pink Petticoat I bought ages ago and forget all about - dopey me as they are fabulous!! I have distressed by scissors and distress ink around all the edges as I LOVE this look.

I have used my PMs for colouring again - hoping to get some more Prismas for my Birthday later this month (Graham has already asked for Prisma Man's email addy so what else can that mean??).

The pic above shows the Co'ordinations card I put thru my Bigshot in a fab folder I rediscovered in my boxes of stash. I then sanded it down to show the inner black core. Love it :)

Simply for Christmas

This is my second post for today - got the house to myself and peace and quiet.........

Well I suppose it s about time to start making those dreaded Christmas cards methinks - I dread the festive season as it brings back so many bad memories of a very unhappy first marriage where my hubby drank constantly for the 2 weeks he was off work and no matter how hard I try to put the past behind me, I cannot forget these years.

Enough of me being morose......here is a card made using one of Jenni's fabulous new Imogen images - 'Imogen Trimming The Tree' - I tried to keep the card simple to show off how pretty the image is....she would look fab in any colour wouldn't she?

I used my PMs in various shades of grey and black, added some glitter, gems and ribbon. DP is from Pink Petticoat.

What a gorgeous weekend we have had here in the SE - today is a bit cooler but still very nice.

My cad for today I am not entirely happy with - I tried out the cracked glass technique to the letter but something has not gone right I know.

I have followed the sketch for The Sugar Bowl and also the Autumn Theme, and also it fits in with The Sarah Hurley Vintage Theme too.

Not in any pain while passing water just back pain so drinking lots of water and cranberry juice to see if that helps ease it a bit.

Welcome to my new followers - you will soon realise that I am a very erratic (that the correct word folks?) blogger - go for days posting every day then can't find my mojo and don't come back for days!!

I am full of the cold today so not feeling very sociable but have the doc for a check up after my procedure and then see my Neurosurgeon tomorrow in London to get 'signed off' his care. Although I have a vast improvement in movement in my neck and require no painkillers, it does get sore when it is cold or wet - something to do with the humidity or something (lots of arthritic sufferers have to cope with this - any tips anyone?).

2 Sisters Let's Get Sentimental;
Wee Memories No 68 No Patterned Papers and
Fetch a Sketch (great sketch girls).

All I did for this folks was colour him in PMs, layer onto navy and red card and stamped a fab bunting along the top using my Molly Bloom Freebie! The sentiment I made using an alphabet stamp I bought in The Range for 99p.

I have been a bad blogger of late (personal reasons) but will try to get around to some commenting very soon hopefully. This card I made last night for the following challenges:~

I spent ages getting her face coloured - (took tips from various blogs and sites) but still I don't think its right; never mind.

UPDATE ON TREK ~ the 4 'boy scouts' - sorry MEN - have had to alter their route thru the Swiss Alps as the original route was covered in snow and they are now heading down towards Verbiers for their last day 2moro - home on Thurs very late and I have to pick them up at Luton Airport. Could do without it as got a bad head cold and very tickly cough starting :(

Hello fellow bloggers - what is the weather like with you today? Lynne and I went out to the shops and it poured so thankfully we were inside!

My card for today is this wee fairy stamp I won ages ago and never got used.....

I used a combo of FMs and PMs to colour her and cut her out using a Sizzix Framelits that I bought on Friday from Country View Crafts - delivered Sat am so excellent service if anyone is interested. The Framelits are a lot cheaper than Nesties but cut out beautifully - only difference I see is that you can't emboss with them but for a simple shape cutter they are fabulous. The DPs are from Funky Hand's Very Funky CD 'Hills of Heather'.

We have another lovely day here in Enfield but had lots of boring housework to do. Hubby is away in Switzerland on his hiking trip with his 3 elder brothers and nephew and he has been texting regularly about their progress - so far so good - no blisters or broken bones yet! I found a site that follows their route across the mountains and the scenery is stunning.

Anyway back to the more important thing of crafting he he......

Over at Jenni's this time, she has set us the fabulous Challenge of 'Lots of Layers' - easy - just matt and layer one of your digis lots and lots and hey presto you could win some of Bugaboo's fabulous Digi images!

Her is my card using a fabulous freebie from the Stella range at Bugaboo ~

I just adore these very comical images Jodie sells - there is a perfect one for every single occasion I can tell you and not just in the Stella range so do go along and check them all out (fab freebies too guys!).

I coloured her with my PMs, stamped various images from my See-D's Vintage Collection rubber stamp set and layered up everything onto various cardstock. The DPs are from Pink Petticoat.

Today's card I coloured while sitting outside in the sunshine........yea you read correctly...the sunshine!! SO I hope you have some of that lovely yellow stuff too!

Following Willow Sketchie current sketch, I used papers from my stash, plasterers scrim and a cheap cheap horrid foam stamp for the sentiment. I adore this wee image and can't wait to play along with the new stamps when they are released. Did you know that the artist Krista also sells digi images on her Etsy site here? Have to say I prefer rubber - ooops that sounds a bit naughty does it not but you know what I mean guys!!

I have three (yes 3) cards to share with you today and they are all CAS. I really enjoyed the simplicity of making them so made need to explore this a bit more.

I had a bit of 'down' news today - the job I went for was offered to someone else so I will just need to start again. Really wanted it as it was in Dunelm Mill - they are opening a massive store in Enfield 10 ins walk from our house boo hoo! Never mind - onwards and upwards as they say!

My first card is for the following challenges :~

I used my PMs to colour in this ever so sweet image I got as a gift (unsure what it is called - sorry).

Another week my happy friends.......and a very big hello to my new followers (WELCOME GUYS) .....the weather here today is fabulous as I ADORE wind - it is absolutely howling and utterly perfect for me. I do know lots of people hate it and there are lots of areas more badly hit than London but I am off out for a walk very soon.

My card for today is a bit different for me - I have stuck to black and white this time.....

Miss You Nights

I have been a bit busy the last few days helping Graham get prepared for his hiking trip in Switzerland with his 2 brothers and nephew next week - packing 8 days of clothing into a 35 litres rucksack - 1 pr to wear and the other to wash and hang from pack as walking!! It will be strange not having him around for 8 days as he tends to only ever go away for a night or two with work - so hoping he will be thinking of me too as he strides up and down them Alps! Hoping to post some lovely pics of the trip once he is back.

This wee challenge seemed appropriate -

I know the image is a wee sad girl but Graham can imagine its moi sitting at home awaiting his return - to be honest the break will do us both good - recharge our batteries for each other he he and perhaps bring back to life the huge flame we once had. Don't get me wrong, we are happy but just need a spark after all my illnesses the last 3 years. OMG this hole is just getting deeper and deeper......

Health update

Hello my cums,

Had my colonoscopy this morning and thankfully all clear - not a pleasant experience but was worth it to know that I am free of any horrid conditions like cancer, diverticulitis, polyps etc.

Happy as Larry I am and thanks for all your good wishes and advice - much appreciated girls!

Will be back tomorrow with a card or two.

Hello fellow Bloggers! I have to apologise for my absence over the last few days - going in to have my colonoscopy done tomorrow and a bit uptight about it - heard so many gruesome stories - thankfully I am getting it done thru BUPA (TY Graham's work!) so will have the luxury of my own room, fluffy dressing gown etc but to cap it all Graham is away til tomorrow so Lynne will be taking me up for the procedure. I have to be there for 7am so early night tho I won't sleep a wink as I have been taking strong laxatives all day - Vicky you will understand I am sure!!

Anyway, onto my two cards for today both using a fab DP from Funky Hand CD called V Funky - I just adore Anice's DPs.

The first card is for the Cupcake Patchwork Challenge :~

All I did for this was cut 9 squares of paper slightly smaller than my card and added stamped stitches to make it look like patchwork.

I love this Sugar Nellie Raven stamp - a recent purchase for me - which reminds me I must take some pics of the goodies I bought at Emerald Crafts in Brecon (TY to those of you who pointed me in the right direction - fab fab fab shop and girls are so helpful - kept Graham amused while I spent a small fortune!). Coloured her with my PMs as usual.

This sentiment is a gorgeous freebie from Rainbow Echo Designs.

For those who are concerned about my ongoing health problem, I am having a colonoscopy done on Tuesday at the Kings Oak Hospital in Enfield - have to eat nothing for 24hrs and take the strong laxative I was given all day Monday so no going out for me that day. Will be in all day then will be making up for the lack of food as soon as I am set free!!

Update on health

Scan results located and all looks fine - hernia and gallstones as already told but thankfully nothing found on my aorta - doc thought it was pulsating too strongly and was concerned I had an aneurysm. I have an appt with general surgery on Tues afternoon to see if I need to have colonoscopy done then it will be all systems go to get rid of hernia and gallstones. Still got bad abdo pains from time to time and am doubled up with them but taking peppermint oil capsules and they seem top help a bit.

Off to Brecon Beacons in morning so not likely to be on again til Tuesday so hope you all have a fab weekend whatever you are up to....

I have another card to share with you today - it is so wet outside that I cannot get any weeding done so what comes next.....crafting. Bu##er the HW!

I have kept this one very simple - ordered this stamp yesterday along with some goodies for a special friend of mine so I hope she got hers today too!

I used my new Prismas to colour but just have a question or two for any users of these fab pencils - do you have a stump for each colour? and also how do you sharpen them (stumps I mean) or do you sharpen them at all? Thanks so much in advance for everyone's help in my purchase of these pencils - am waiting for my birthday so I can instruct my family how to buy them from Tony!!

Well to say it is raining would be lying - it is chucking it down so heavily.

I had my GP visit today and have come home very disappointed - it would appear that the results of my scan from last week have gone astray somewhere between the hospital and the surgery. I have had to call them to request fresh ones be faxed over asap. She has in the meantime referred me for an urgent colonoscopy (camera up my b##) and has to be done in next two weeks. So no further on with hernia and gallstones tho she did say stones may be root of the problem so op is inevitable tho more likely to not be done via keyhole as I have already had major abdo surgery. Will keep you updated tho....

Hello my lovely friends,

Just quick post tonight as I am bl##dy knackered - didn't sleep well last night and was wide awake at 5am. Finding it hard to keep my eyes open...

Had my scan and I have huge gallstones (no symptoms) and a epigastric hernia (Vicky you will know all about that I am sure). Specialist I saw recommends I have an op to repair hernia and remove gall bladder but will need to see my GP first for blood and stool results. Got appt with her on Tuesday next week so panic over meantime. Will get them done BUPA thankfully - I know lots of people have to rely on the good old NHS but I have had more than my share of it over the last 3 years - may as well make the most of company perk eh?

Interview went well too and I can reveal that Dunelm Mill are coming to Enfield (10mins away from us) and they are going to be the biggest one in the country with a massive craft section - how happy am I and to be able to possibly work there too?? (that's where I went for the interview - opening end Oct).

Here is my project for today - first time I have made one so pls be gentle with me he he......

I made this using a cream 13cm square card - cut the front in half diagonally, stuck it down to back and hey presto!

Hope you like it too! I didn't want to embellish it too much as it would never fit nicely inside my book

Ingredients:~
Strike a Pose rubber stamp from Funky Kits;
PMs ~ Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink, Oatmeal, Pastel Blue, Denim Blue, Cornflower, China Blue and Flexmarker Glacier Blue to outline;

New Health Scare

Hi guys,

I now I can count on your support and empathy with a wee problem I have - I went to see my GP today as I have been suffering from a wee bit of the runs for a few weeks - nothing startling - just thought I should get it checked . At the same time I mentioned a fist-sized lump that appears intermittently just above my belly button. To cut the tale short, she want stool samples, loads of bloods but also she discovered the aorta in my abdomen is pulsating at a much-too-powerful pressure (totally unrelated). The medics amongst you will understand and perhaps offer me some advice. Thankfully we have BUPA thru Graham's work so I am getting an abdominal scan done first thing tomorrow morning at The Royal Oak Hospital in Enfield.

I don't think I can cope with any more illnesses or conditions - have had three years of hell with Ovarian Cancer and my neck - just want to get my life back

I have a job interview later this afternoon too - God I could cry my eyes out but gotta keep strong for that. Should be back later with a wee something I have made - not a card believe it or not.......

A Very Special Card

I don't know if you already know Simply Sassy are currently running a challenge to appear on their header so I thought 'what the heck ~ if I don't try there is NO chance' ~ so here is my card for their consideration :~

I just LOVE all of these Sassy's :). I coloured her with my PMs (details below) and used one of my new Fleximarkers (love em too now!!) to outline the image.

As well as putting this card forward for their challenge, I am also entering it into the following:~

I got my FMs this morning and ripped them open to play with and I have to say IMHO they are far superior to PMs. The brush tip is lovely and soft & flexible, and blends much easier than PMs so it look awfully like I will want them all when they are released next month - so my wish list now includes the full set of Prisma pencils and the full set of Fleximarkers - oh dear - donations gratefully accepted!!

Good morning everyone and I pray you all had a peaceful night. Do what they have done here in Enfield - the residents have taken back the streets thankfully!

My card for this morning is my first use of City Girl from the fabulous Simply Sassy range ~

This is my second attempt with my Prismas and I am not sure about it.......

I know I NEED the full set now so I have the full colour range but I will need to hint to the family as its my bday in Oct - can I wait til then?...................do I have to?

As soon as I have finished this post I am going to get my Watermark from the old PC as I am so afraid someone pinches my pics - like anyone would when there is a whole world full of much better cards.

Spread Your Wings My Precious Friend

Before I post my card can I just say that we have all had a very sleepless night here in Enfield, North London due to the riots. They started in Enfield Town but spread to the shopping park near to where we live and also several shops on the local main road were looted nearby to us. I will not say what I think but you can guess what is going thru my mind about these youngsters........

Here is my first card for today - I have been up most of the night just sitting here in my 'new' craft room - cannot provide pics of it yet as it is not completely finished yet - too many boxes lying around etc. Promise to post pics very soon.......using another fabulous Simply Sassy stamp (Spread Your Wings) I used my PMs to colour. I hope you like her hair colour - I 'borrowed' the idea from Lou Mac - you have to visit her blog to see her colour combos (they are fabulous).

All the papers are backed with plain white card coloured with appropriate colour in PMs and I made the flowers myself - good eh?
